At loss for words
Where are You now Lord?
I thought You cared for me
You said Yourself
"I'm near to you"
Well right now it feels like
You couldn't be farther
Someone with faith that will not fail
I want to learn to trust You
When I can't hear You
I don't need the answer
I don't need the answer
I'm tired of trying
To chase You down
I could just give it up
Would that be easier?
You said Yourself
"Seek and you'll find"
So I'm gonna seek You more
Than ever in my life
Lord take and make me into
Someone with faith that will not fail
I want to learn to trust You
When I can't see You
I don't need the answer
I don't need the answer
When I don't understand
I'll cling to Your hand
I don't need the answer
Answers won't save me
In trusting You I'm free
I believe Your promises
My future's in Your hands
I don't need the answer
I don't need the answer
When I don't understand
I'll cling to Your hand
I don't need the answer
The lyrics of "I Don't Mind" by Marshall & The Fro convey the emotional struggle and questioning of faith that the singer is experiencing. The opening lines, "Wounded and hurt, at loss for words, where are You now Lord?" reveal a sense of pain and confusion. The singer feels abandoned or distant from God and wonders why they are going through difficult times if God truly cares for them.
The next lines, "You said Yourself, 'I'm near to you,' well right now it feels like you couldn't be farther," express the singer's disappointment and frustration. They were led to believe that God is always close and attentive, but in their current situation, they feel alone and distant from Him.
Despite this feeling, the singer seeks to deepen their faith and trust in God. They express their desire to learn how to trust God even when they cannot hear or perceive His presence. They acknowledge that they don't need the immediate answers to their questions and struggles, but instead, they want to strengthen their faith and reliance on God.
The line, "I'm tired of trying to chase you down, I could just give it up, would that be easier?" reflects the singer's weariness and temptation to give up on pursuing a relationship with God. They question whether it would be easier to stop seeking Him altogether. However, they remember God's instruction to seek and find Him, which motivates them to continue seeking God more diligently than ever before.
The chorus, "Lord take and make me into someone with faith that will not fail, I want to learn to trust you when I can't hear or see you," highlights the singer's desire for a firm, unwavering faith. They ask God to shape them into someone who will remain faithful even in times of doubt and uncertainty.
The final verse reiterates the singer's determination to hold on to God's hand even when they don't understand the reasons for their struggles. They express that they don't need all the answers to find solace or salvation. By trusting in God, they find freedom and believe in His promises for their future.
Overall, these lyrics depict a journey of grappling with doubts and confusion while seeking to develop an unshakable faith in God's presence and promises.
