quién gobierna mi vida,
quién dirige mi mente
junto a la de los demás.
Qué poderes en la sombra
juegan con mi voluntad,
una máquina los nombra
Estribillo:
Dime la verdad,
dime su secreto.
Toda la verdad,
no le tengas miedo.
Somos unas marionetas,
otros mueven los hilos.
No se quitan la careta,
no sabemos cómo son.
Utilizan las palabras
sólo para confundir.
Yo no sé si la esperanza
conseguirá sobrevivir.
Estribillo
Qué poderes en la sombra
juegan con mi voluntad,
una máquina los nombra
para podernos controlar.

The lyrics of Marta Sanchez's song "Dime La Verdad" express a sense of frustration and confusion regarding personal freedom and control over one's own life. The singer asks herself repeatedly who governs her life and directs her thoughts alongside those of others. The reference to "poderes en la sombra" (powers in the shadow) implies that there are hidden forces at play and that someone or something is manipulating people's will. The image of being marionettes whose strings are pulled by other people evokes the feeling of helplessness and lack of agency.
The singer acknowledges that words can be used to deceive and manipulate, leading to confusion and a loss of hope. However, she insists on knowing the truth and urges others not to be afraid to speak it. The repetition of the chorus "Dime la verdad, dime su secreto. Toda la verdad, no le tengas miedo" (Tell me the truth, tell me its secret. All of the truth, don't be afraid of it) highlights the importance of honesty and transparency.
Overall, the song is a call for people to take control of their lives and to demand transparency from those in power. It highlights the dangers of hidden agendas and manipulation and encourages individuals to seek the truth and not give up hope.
