All at once
I finally took a moment and I'm realizing that
You're not coming back
And it finally hit me, all at once
All at once
I started counting teardrops and at least a million fell
My eyes began to swell
And all my dreams were shattered, all at once

Ever since I met you
You're the only love I've known
And I can't forget you
Though I must face it all alone

All at once, I'm drifting on a lonely sea
Wishing you'd come back to me
And that's all that matters now

All at once, I'm drifting on a lonely sea
Holding on to memories
And it hurts me more than you know
So much more than it shows
All at once

All at once
I looked around and found that you were with another love
In someone else's arms
And all my dreams were shattered, all at once

All at once
The smile that used to greet me brightened someone else's day
She took your smile away
And left me with just memories, all at once

Ever since I met you
You're the only love I've known
And I can't forget you
Though I must face it all alone

All at once, I'm drifting on a lonely sea
Wishing you'd come back to me
And that's all that matters now

All at once, I'm drifting on a lonely sea
Holding on to memories
And it hurts me more than you know
So much more than it shows
All at once

All at once, I'm drifting on a lonely sea
Wishing you'd come back to me
And it hurts me more than you know
So much more than it shows
All at once

And that's all that matters now
All at once, I'm drifting on a lonely sea
Wishing you'd come back to me

And it hurts me more than you know
All at once

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Martin Nievera's song "All At Once" are imbued with grief and pain as he laments the end of a relationship. In the opening, Nievera sings about finally coming to the realization that his love is not returning. He looks back on how he counted teardrops and how his dreams were shattered once he fully comprehended that their love is gone. Although he acknowledges that he is drifting on a lonely sea, wishing for the other person to return to him, he also knows that he has to face the reality of moving on alone.

The song is full of vivid imagery of the pain and hurt that the main character is feeling. He sees his love in someone else's arms and knows that his dreams have been destroyed. His memories still hold on to the good times, but they also hurt more than he can express outwardly. At the end of the song, Nievera sings about how he is still drifting and hoping for his love's return, but he knows that he has to face things alone. The lyrics capture the despair and heartbreak of a love lost and the desperation that comes with trying to hold on to something that has already left.
