OPM
Original Pilipino Music, now more commonly termed Original Pinoy Music or Original Philippine Music, (frequently abbreviated to OPM) originally referred only to Philippine pop songs, especially those in the ballad form, such as songs popularized in the 1970s through the mid-1990s by major commercial Philippine pop music artists like Pilita Corrales, Ryan Cayabyab, Kuh Ledesma, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Martin Nievera, Basil Valdez, Rey Valera, Regine Velasquez Read Full BioOriginal Pilipino Music, now more commonly termed Original Pinoy Music or Original Philippine Music, (frequently abbreviated to OPM) originally referred only to Philippine pop songs, especially those in the ballad form, such as songs popularized in the 1970s through the mid-1990s by major commercial Philippine pop music artists like Pilita Corrales, Ryan Cayabyab, Kuh Ledesma, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Martin Nievera, Basil Valdez, Rey Valera, Regine Velasquez, Alfred Abbas, Ogie Alcasid, Jamie Rivera, Joey Albert, Sharon Cuneta, Lani Misalucha, Lea Salonga, and APO Hiking Society.
OPM pop has also been regularly showcased in the live band scene. Groups like Neocolors, Side A, True Faith (band), Passage, Freestyle and 3rd Avenue popularized songs that clearly reflect the sentimental character of OPM pop.
In the passage of time as well as the development of many diverse and alternative musical styles in the Philippines, however, the term OPM now refers to any type of Original Philippine Music created in the Philippines or composed by individuals of Philippine extraction, regardless of location at the time when composed. The lyrics, in fact, may be in any language or dialect. Although most of it are written either in Filipino, English, or "Taglish," OPMs written in other non-Philippine languages (e.g., Japanese), though handful, do exist.

Heaven Is a Halfpipe
OPM Lyrics
If I die before I wake
At least in heaven I can skate
'Cause right now on earth I can't do jack
Without the man up on my back
Now heaven would be a DJ
Spinning dub all night long
And Heaven would be just kickin' back
With Jesus packing my bong
And if you don't believe in Jesus and Mohammed or Buddha too
And while the world is warring
We'll just sit back and laugh at you
Singing
If I die before I wake
At least in heaven I can skate
'Cause right now on earth I can't do jack
Without the man up on my back
Now when most people think of heaven
They see those pearly gates
But I looked a little closer
And there's a sign that says "Do Not Skate"
So if you wanna come to my heaven
Well we're all gonna have a ball
And everyone you know is welcome
'Cause we got no gates or walls
Singing
If I die before I wake
At least in heaven I can skate
'Cause right now on Earth I can't do shit
Without the man fucking with it
And then I got to the gate
Pulled out a list that I'd been calling fate
I'm sorry friend you can't come in
You gotta a list here that doesn't end
You're mad 'cause I smoke dope
You teaching any classes in how to cope
I'll find a place to rest my head
I'd rather be alone now that I'm dead
Like Christian Hossoi way back in 87'
We'll be busting Christ air's until we get to Heaven
You think I really care that I miss my Biology
Got my education in stale fishology
With all your rules you gots to chill
I'm gonna twist out like Mike McGill
I'm gonna twist out 'cause I got the skillz
I'm gonna twist out 'cause I got the skillz (got the skillz, got the skillz)
Heaven is a halfpipe
If I die before I wake
At least in heaven I can skate
'Cause right now on earth I can't do jack
Without the man up on my back (Heaven is a halfpipe)
If I die before I wake
At least in heaven I can skate (Heaven is a halfpipe)
'Cause right now on earth I can't do shit
Without the man fucking with it
If I die before I wake (If I die before I wake)
At least in heaven I can skate (Heaven is a halfpipe)
'Cause right now on earth I can't do jack ('Cause right now on earth I can't do jack)
Without the man fucking with it
If I die before I wake
At least in heaven I can skate (I don't care, no I don't care)
'Cause right now on earth I can't do shit (I don't care, I don't care)
Without the man fucking with it (I don't care, I don't care)
If I die before I wake
At least in heaven I can skate
'Cause right now on earth I can't do shit

The brain is so weird. Haven't listened to this song for almost 15 years most likely and yet I wake up today and my Brain is jamming to it so here I am. No regrets.

I found this song in the most bizarre way. I was doing deconstruction in an old house and came by some old school-notebooks from 2002. In one of them there was written the first 2 lines of this song. I had a feeling it would be a song, so I googled the lines and ended up here.

@GlaciusDreams Lol no it doesn't.. for the words to be written in there they would have to have been from before 2002.. so if the song was released in 2008 it wouldn't make sense. The song was released in 2000 and is on NOW50 released in 2001.

The owner of the notebooks was a girl. In 2002 she was in 8th grade (in Europe). By now she's in her or nearing mid 30s, as are probably most people returning to this song.
