Not complacent, yet pressing towards the mark currently as Founder and Senior Pastor of Lighthouse Full Life Center Church, one of the fastest growing churches in Western Michigan, Marvin is innovative in his approach to winning the lost and edifying the believer. As a native of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Pastor Marvin is committed to his community and enjoys taking the message to the masses. In its inaugural year, the ministry has initiated a Full Life approach with an emphasis of addressing the spiritual, physical and mental needs of the body. By no means is Pastor Marvin and the Lighthouse family resting on its laurels or taking credit for the well-rounded and effective ministry approach. In fact, with humility, they acknowledge they have found the formula for a successful ministry based on the Bible and cultivated through an intimate relationship with God.
Pastor Marvin is united in covenant to(Late) First Lady MaLinda Sapp, a gifted speaker, local
college professor and Limited Licensed Psychologist, who also serves as Administrative Pastor. They have three wonderful children; Marvin II, Mikaila and Madisson.
(2) Recruited for the legendary gospel group Commissioned while still a relative unknown, Marvin Sapp recorded with the group until its dissolution in 1995, and then began his own solo career with a self-titled album the following year. Born and raised in Grand Rapids, MI (where he has based his JOY Ministries outreach), Sapp debuted with Commissioned in the early '90s after Keith Staten left for solo work. He recorded the Commissioned albums Number 7 and Matters of the Heart with members Fred Hammond, Mitchell Jones, Mike Williams, and Karl Reid; after Hammond and Williams left as well, Sapp recorded the group's final album, 1996's Irreplaceable Love. By that time Sapp had signed a solo contract too, and March 1996 saw the release of his self-titled debut on Word Records. The album reunited him with former Commissioned mate Fred Hammond (who produced the LP) and featured the gospel hits "Calling Me" and "In His Presence." Sapp's sophomore effort, Grace & Mercy, appeared in May 1997, followed two years later by Nothing Else Matters. After a short absence from the music scene, he reappeared under contract at Versity Records and released the song "I Believe" on the WOW Gospel 2002 album, followed by the album I Believe later in 2002. Diary of a Psalmist appeared in 2003, Be Exalted in 2005, and Thirsty in 2007. Here I Am, which debuted higher in the Billboard charts than any gospel album in 50 years, arrived in 2010. I Win followed in 2012. ~ John Bush, Rovi
Rivers Flow

I believe I'll take a drink from the well that giveth life
Thou only knew that if of God & who it was that said to thee
Thou would have asked of him- give me drink
& he will give unto thee
I got a river flowing inside of me
I'll take a drink forever
Not in the mountains, or in jacob's well
But from my valley
Flows a well streaming of living water
Worshipping thee
I will never thirst again
Everlasting life
For there is spirit in me
Worship & life
Power has come
& it is now
Spirit & truth
Worship be seeked
The father is seeking someone right now
That will let go & just believe
I got a river flowing inside of me
I'll take a drink forever
I feel the need
Not in the mountains, or in jacob's well
But from my valley
Flows a well streaming of living water
Worshipping thee
as the water flows from the rivers to the ocean to the sea
God your spirit running inside of me
Oh, as the ocean- as the river flows
To this place where we give you our hearts
Give you our hearts
ohh ohhh ohhh
I got a well that's living inside of me
Life in the flow of worship
I'll take a drink
I know you're seeking worship
I'll give you a drink
I got a well of worship inside of me
Flow, flow
Worship inside of me [4x]
life, life
Life flowing out of me [4x]
flow, life [7x]
life flowing out of me [7x]
flow, life [12x]
life flowing out of me [3x]
The song "Rivers Flow" by Marvin Sapp is a powerful testament to the everlasting life and spirit found in God. The opening lyrics express a desire to drink from a well that will never run dry, one that gives life. The singer believes that if they had known of God and asked for a drink, He would have provided it. The song conveys the idea that God is the source of all life and refreshment, and that through belief and worship, we can find a wellspring of living water within us.
The middle section of the song speaks of the river flowing inside the singer, a never-ending flow of worship and life. The well of living water is not found in the high mountains or a famous well from biblical times but is instead located within the singer's own valley. The lyrics repeatedly emphasize the power and truth of worship as a means of connecting to God and finding a source of life that will never falter. The singer declares that they will never thirst again, thanks to the everlasting life and spirit within them.
The final section of the song is a call to worship and a recognition of God's presence within the singer. The imagery of water flowing from rivers to the sea is used to describe the flow of God's spirit within the singer. The song ends with an affirmation of faith, declaring that there is a well of worship and life flowing within the singer.
