Liberation
Mash-Up Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

We're invincible,
Learn to fly like an angel,

Love so spiritual,
Quench the fire within my soul.

And you fly like an angel,
Into this arms on temptation,
Yes you fly like an angel,
Into this arms of temptation.

Into this arms of temptation.
Temptation, temptation

Overall Meaning

The first two lines of the chorus in Mash-Up's song Liberation, "We're invincible, learn to fly like an angel", showcase the theme of empowerment and strength. The singer is portraying themselves as unstoppable and invincible, which is further emphasized by the analogy of flying like an angel. The idea of flying like an angel brings to mind an image of freedom and lofty goals, suggesting that the singer has achieved a sense of personal liberation.

The next two lines, "Love so spiritual, quench the fire within my soul," contrast with the previous statements. Here, the singer is expressing a need for love and connection. The term "spiritual" indicates the singer desires a deeper emotional connection rather than physical, adding a layer of depth and sincerity to the meaning. The line "quench the fire within my soul" is an evocative metaphor representing the singer's emotional desperation before being comforted by the love of the person they are addressing. This love, in turn, brings liberation from their emotional struggles.

Overall, the chorus of Liberation is an anthem of both empowerment and emotional fulfillment, which is a common theme in Mash-Up’s music.

This is THE track that got me into trance. I was 18 and entering my first year in college in the US. By this time, this track was two years old but it was on a compilation CD that my first roommate was listening to. I was hooked immediately.

I'm now 38 and still listening to trance with the same amount of joy I had from day one. I don't remember the name of my roommate from back then, but wherever he is...I wish I could tell him thanks.

Nobody got what Trance was all about more than Matt Darey and Ferry Corsten. They were both why Trance was so epic in the late 90's/early 00's.

@A_J_Gaming83

Michael Woods was definitely up there with these guys.

Let us not forget Lange

And last but not least the space brothers

I immediately recognized Ferry Corsten's brillant touch by listening, including without looking up the title.
