I show you how to lose it
How to build a castle
And take it down brick by brick
I'm sick of running in circles
Living by the moonlight
Waiting for the moment
So come on baby, show your face
Everybody knows your name
Show me just a little grace
You got me on my knees
So lift me up, love
'Cause my heart
Is begging for a beat
Come and get it started
Love, love
Hit my heart
And come a little harder
Oh, light it up, love
'Cause my heart
Is begging for a beat
Come, and get it started
Love, love
Hit my heart
And come a little harder
Sending out a signal
The only way to use it
Is to come a little closer
And tear me up bit by bit
So come on baby, show your face
Everybody knows your name
Show me just a little grace
You got me on my knees
So lift me up, love
'Cause my heart
Is begging for a beat
Come and get it started
Love, love
Hit my heart
And come a little harder
Oh, light it up, love
'Cause my heart
Is begging for a beat
Come and get it started
Love, love
Hit my heart
And come a little harder
You got me on my knees
I just need a little hit of your love
So lift me up
Get me to my feet
I just need a little hit of your love
So lift me up
You got me on my knees
So lift me up, love
'Cause my heart
Is begging for a beat
Come and get it started
Love, love
Hit my heart
And come a little harder
Oh, light it up, love
'Cause my heart
Is begging for a beat
Come and get it started
Love, love
Hit my heart
And come a little harder
So lift me up, love
'Cause my heart
Is begging for a beat
Come and get it started
Love, love
Hit my heart
And come a little harder
Oh, light it up, love
'Cause my heart
Is begging for a beat
Come, and get it started
Love, love
Hit my heart
And come a little harder
You got me on my knees
I just need a little hit of your love
So lift me up
Get me to my feet
I just need a little hit of your love
So lift me up
The lyrics to Matt Cardle's song "Hit My Heart" are quite straightforward in their message of longing for a love that is strong and powerful enough to revive the singer's spirit. The opening lines set the tone for the rest of the song, as the singer challenges his lover to help him experience both the heights and depths of emotional intensity. He suggests that if she can show him "heaven," he'll teach her how to "lose it," implying that he's willing to take risks and face the consequences of his actions in order to achieve a deeper understanding of love. This idea is reinforced by the second stanza, in which the singer expresses frustration with his current situation and a desire to break out of the cycle of uncertainty and waiting.
The chorus of the song features a repeated request for his lover to "hit his heart" harder and harder, with the intention of creating a sense of urgency and intensity that will rejuvenate his spirit. The metaphor of the heart as a rhythmical engine that needs to be jumpstarted is used throughout the song, appealing to both the senses and the emotions of the listener.
Overall, "Hit My Heart" is a song that speaks to the universal desire for deep, meaningful connection, and the willingness to take risks and push boundaries in order to achieve it.
