He has since launched another album, Beautiful News, and continues to write many more popular songs such as You Never Let Go and Shine.
Songfacts states that Redman's eighth album 10,000 Reasons, was co-written with several of his friends. He then recorded the songs live in Atlanta, leading worship for over 1,000 worship leaders during LIFT: A Worship Leader Collective, put on by Passion City Church and sixstepsrecords on February 18 and 19, 2011. It sold nearly 7,000 units its first week in the US, almost doubling Redman's previous album release We Shall Not Be Shaken. The LP entered the Billboard 200 at #66, his biggest debut to date.
Intimacy
Matt Redman Lyrics

One thing that I would ask
To know You, Lord, as close as one
Could hope to on this earth
Intimacy
O Jesus, intimacy
My treasure will be, O Jesus
To look upon Your beauty, Lord
Your glory and Your heart
To know You close, and closer still
Watch day upon this earth
Intimacy
O Jesus, intimacy
My treasure will be, O Jesus
Your intimacy
Lord, since the day I saw You first
My soul was satisfied
And yet because I see in part
I'm searching, more to find
Intimacy
O Jesus, intimacy
My treasure will be, O Jesus
Your intimacy
Intimacy
O Jesus, intimacy
My treasure will be, O Jesus
Your intimacy
Intimacy
O Jesus, intimacy
My treasure will be, O Jesus
Your intimacy
The lyrics of "Intimacy" by Matt Redman express the singer's desire to deepen his relationship with Jesus Christ. The song emphasizes the importance of intimacy with God and how it is the treasured goal that fills his heart. The first verse begins with the artist setting his heart on one thing: to know the Lord as close as one could ever hope to on earth. This verse is a representation of his willingness to do anything to get to know Jesus better, and how he longs for a deep relationship with him. The use of the word "hope" in the phrase "hope to on this earth" suggests there is no promise that this level of proximity can be achieved, but he still desires it with his whole heart.
The chorus declares Jesus' intimacy as the artist's treasure, and how he longs for it to be his everything. The word "intimacy" is repeated multiple times throughout the song to emphasize how essential it is in the artist's relationship with God. The second verse describes his desire to gaze upon Jesus' beauty, heart, and glory, and to do so increasingly closer every day of his life. It gives the impression that he is not satisfied with just glimpses of who Jesus is; he wants to know him fully.
The bridge lyric shows a sense of contentment that the artist has with his relationship with God thus far but at the same time, a longing for more. His soul has been satisfied since the day he first laid eyes on Jesus, but there is an acknowledgment that he is still searching for more understanding and depth in his relationship with God. The song ends with the repetition of the main chorus, emphasizing the importance and centrality of intimacy with God to the artist.
