1. MATTHEW is an alternative rock band from Chicago, featuring members of the bands Lacklustre & Seven Day Jesus. They released one full length on Rykodisc and an independent 7" vinyl before being dropped from the label in 2003. They have been promising and talking about a recorded sophomore album for the last three years. The lead singer, Brian McSweeney is currently recording his debut solo album.

In "Where Did You Go," Matthew sings about a heavy heart with heavy eyes. He feels the loss of someone who was once by his side, but is now gone. He reminisces about a time when they believed in innocence and something that person could bring to him, but that something of the past is coming back again. He wonders where that person has gone and what it meant. He tries to remember that person, but it's hard to believe as the beauty is fading and silence has ceased. Matthew saw the symptoms of sadness on the person's face and wonders if it was a dream to think he could please them for a while. He didn't mean to understand the person's feelings or to be a friend, he only wanted to be free and believe that the person could love him. Matthew longs to know where that person has gone and tries to recapture the part of them that he needs so much.
