Frost developed his eclectic style of music playing in various projects throughout his teen years. He became a musician when he was eight, and started playing shows at 12, collaborating with a diverse array of artists like Austin icon Bob Schneider and hip-hop MC/producer Kydd. After hearing musicians like Erykah Badu and D’Angelo in his late teens, Frost began incorporating hip-hop elements into his blues-inspired stylings, interested in the idea of combining modern rhythms with classic vintage tones in his music.
In September 2012 Frost decided to leave the University of Texas-Austin, where he was studying English, to pursue his solo career. He released a single, “White Lies,” which hit No. 1 on The Hype Machine’s “Most Popular Tracks on Blogs Now.” Max channeled the song’s success into the creation of his debut EP, Low High Low, which was released in October 2013 by Atlantic Records.
Frost has stated that “The songs all connect to polar emotional states in life – highs and lows – giving the EP its name.” The theme continues in the production aesthetics of low-fi and high-fi, which continues as the basic concept in his music.
In December 2013, "White Lies" was featured in a commercial for Beats Electronics.

My eyes are silver lining lace in your bed
Chasing golden days
Here they come, here they come
You keep my satisfaction for yourself
I give you something real with no one else
You take the money
Tell me what you want
Don't you know that you got everything you need (oh, oh)
I wanna take it all
I could satisfy your dollar sign dreams (dollar sign dreams)
Walking on water to an island of sand
Drown in the fantasy as deep as you can
Weighted on your waist
Here they come, here they come
I'm just your dusty bottle up on the shelf
Wish I could realize your visions of wealth
You take the money
But I take you as you are
Tell me what you want
Don't you know that you got everything you need (yeah, yeah)
I wanna take it all
I could satisfy your dollar sign dreams (dollar sign dreams)
Franklin ain't no friend of mine
Tired of chasing your dollar signs
See your mink hit the marble floor
Keeps me coming back for more
Tell me what you want
Don't you know that you got everything you need (oh)
I wanna take it all
I could satisfy your dollar sign dreams (dollar sign dreams)
Tell me what you want
Don't you know that you got everything you need (everything you need)
I wanna take it all
I could satisfy your dollar sign dreams
Tell me what you want
Dollar sign dreams
The song "Dreams" by Max Frost is a commentary on materialism, a common theme in pop culture. The first two lines of the song, "Halos of diamonds dancing over your head, My eyes are silver lining lace in your bed", depict a luxurious lifestyle, with expensive diamond jewelry and silver linens. The chorus repeats the phrase "dollar sign dreams," emphasizing the idea of chasing after money and material possessions.
The second verse portrays the singer as someone who desires to satisfy their partner's materialistic desires, even if it means sacrificing their own wants and needs. The line "You take the money, And I take you as you are" suggests that the singer is willing to put their partner's desires above their own, symbolizing the sacrifices people make in relationships.
The lyrics also touch on the idea of the American Dream, with the line "Walking on water to an island of sand, Drown in the fantasy as deep as you can". This line suggests that some people believe that achieving the American Dream is like walking on water, something that is impossible, but that they still want to try to achieve it.
Overall, "Dreams" is a critique of materialism and the sacrifices people make in relationships. The chorus repeats the phrase "dollar sign dreams" which emphasizes the idea of chasing after money and material possessions rather than true happiness and fulfillment.

I'm not sure why he's not famous, maybe he's making music the way HE wants to and not what Mainstream Music companys pay him to make. Contracts on creativity can be a soul draining experience...
