Resurrection
May Brian Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

There's a pain in my brain
Confusion in my heart
My blood's fit for bursting
My body apart - I'm gonna ride -
Ride the night into the morning sun

Gonna make my resurrection
No more of this crap
Got a whole new direction
Ain't no turning back
Resurrection is a-gonna come

My spirit is weeping
For freedom it cries
Ben scraping my living
In the Valley of Lies
Ride the night into the morning sun

I'm a victim of a victim
Of a conspiracy
>From a corpum derelictum
Gonna fly and be free
The resurrection is a-gonna come

Clear the vision
Heal the system
Sins forgiven - RISE!

Flee the prison
Break the system
Sins forgive - RISE!!RISE!!

Ride the night- yes I know I'm still alive -
Gotta ride the night - yeah I'm gonna ride -
Gonna rise again in the morning light

There's no use in counting
The price of those years
There's too many heartaches
And too many tears
Gotta ride the night into the morning sun

Yes I thought I was dreaming
But the East is ablaze
With promise of the future

Those Heavenly Days
Ride the night into the morning sun

Ride the night - into the morning sun
'cause the resurrection is a-gonna come

May and Taylor have noted in interviews that Lambert, with his extraordinary voice, is one of the few who can do justice to Queen's difficult songs - and that, in addition, is not a mimic - never tries to sound like FM, but is a unique and brilliant performer in his own right. (Might ask, have you been to a QAL concert? I have and it's truly a stunner - just look at the audience reactions on YT.)

Might recommend AL's performances of "Save Me" or "I Was Born to Love You" at Summer Sonic. Or anything from the recent NA 26-concert tour. Heading to Europe in November and Down Under in February.

Doubt there will ever be a QAL album - perhaps more like May's guitar work on AL's recent album, "The Original High," where he contributes to "Lucy."

At any rate, it's a collab made in music heaven - Queen would not be touring at sold-out arenas once again (as May has said) without AL. Bringing these songs alive again for both new and old audiences is a remarkable experience.

P.S. Love Brian's solo work - think it's underappreciated - such a great songwriters, as well -
