Sail Away
Meadowlark Lyrics

A silence louder than sound
And everything that I heard last year
Standing alone with no one but my fear
So let me fall down with your love
Let me fall down with your love
Time to sail away, sail away, out of your arms
I tried to
Believe you
Won't do this all again
Sail away out of your arms
Tethered hands cover part
Your little lies in the dark
I didn't know how the end would feel
But for what it was worth it's never felt real
So let me fall down with your love
Let me fall down with your love
Time to sail away, sail away out of your arms
To sail away, sail away out of your
I tried to
Believe you
Won't do this all again
Sail away out of your arms
You were my home
You were my home
You were my whole world
You were my home
You were my home
You were my whole world
Time to sail away, sail away out of your arms
To sail away, sail away out of your
I tried to
Believe you
Won't do this all again
Sail away out of your arms
The lyrics of Meadowlark's song "Sail Away" talk about finding solace in silence and dealing with fears and doubts alone. The singer talks about feeling alone despite being surrounded by people and how the noise around only makes the silence more deafening. The reference to falling down with someone's love suggests that the singer wants to have someone or something to catch them, to give them a sense of security or a new purpose. At the same time, the singer acknowledges that they need to sail away from their current situation, even if it means leaving a person they considered home.
The chorus "Time to sail away, sail away, out of your arms/ To sail away, sail away out of your" represents the urge to move on and start anew. The lines "I tried to/ Believe you/ Won't do this all again/ Sail away out of your arms" imply that the singer has been let down by someone they trusted and loved, and now they don't want to repeat the same mistake. The phrase "Tethered hands cover part/ Your little lies in the dark" refers to the deceit and manipulation the singer went through, and how they didn't realize the true extent of it until the end.
Overall, "Sail Away" is a powerful song that talks about the emotional struggle one faces when asserting their independence and moving away from toxic relationships. The lyrics showcase Meadowlark's ability to write relatable and poignant songs that touch on universal themes of love, loss, and self-discovery.
