Things that we know
Treasures we hide we can find
Something to show us a sign
It's so vulnerable
The words that we say
Doesn't come out as we planned
Common things we take for granted
In our life
Silly games we play that blindfolds
Our eyes
You should know that your a part of me
And it's plain to see
It's invisible
All I can say,
It's what you plan in you mind
Secrets that you wanna find
So admirable
The courage you hold
Giving me time to be strong
Tells me that nothing is wrong
Common things we take for granted
In our life
Silly games we play that blindfolds
Our eyes
You should know that your a part of me
And it's plain to see
Invisible (You take so many things for granted)
Unbelieveble(Yes, I know, I know)
So vulnerable(You know I don't wanna hurt you)
Cause I know
Common things we take for granted
In our life
Silly games we play that blindfolds
Our eyes
You should know that your a part of me
And it's plain to see
The song "Invisible" by Swedish singer Meja is a poignant ballad about the intangible things that we often take for granted in our lives. In the first verse, the lyrics describe how so many of the most valuable and meaningful things in our lives are invisible - treasures that we hide away, waiting for a sign to reveal them. The chorus reinforces this theme, with Meja singing that "it's invisible, all I can say" - the intangible quality of our lives, the secrets and plans that we hold in our minds.
The second verse explores another aspect of this theme, focusing on the vulnerability that comes with sharing our innermost thoughts and feelings with others. Meja sings of the difficulty of expressing ourselves accurately, and how even when we try, our words can often fall short or get in the way. But despite this vulnerability, the chorus again reminds us that we should cherish those common things we take for granted, those silly games we play that sometimes blindfold our eyes, and see them instead as part of a larger, invisible whole.
The final chorus brings everything together, repeating the same words from earlier in the song, with Meja singing that "common things we take for granted in our life, silly games we play that blindfold our eyes, you should know that you're a part of me and it's plain to see". The song ends on this note, a bittersweet reminder that the most important things in our lives are often the ones that we can't see or touch, but that are nevertheless always with us.
