Memory Garden followed up their first Metal Blade release with shows around Scandinavia and some summer festivals including the mighty "Wacken Open Air" in Germany during the summer of 1999. Having spent the fall of 1999 and the beginning of 2000 writing new material for their upcoming release, Memory Garden entered their own studio "Annoying Sound Factory" in Febuary with Mike Wead once again in the producer chair. Some of the recording was also done in Mike´s own studio, Miseria Recording. The result of their work is the ten song masterpiece that you now hold in your hands called "Mirage". This time Memory Garden have taken their music back to their roots and made an even heavier and darker album than "Verdict Of Posterity". Combining both bone crushing riffs with catchy melodies and layered with beautiful harmonies, the guys have once again made the Memory Garden spirit come alive.

Judgement Day
Memory Garden Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
An ancient whispering so honoured
The fall from grace of God
Bleeding for a decade in respect
The fall from grace of God
Low in spirit - old in thought, so tired
Evolution spinning psychotic backwards
As the waves roll with the tide
In your innerself you will hide
As the waves roll with the tide
In your innerself you will hide
Our heritage - a sour ground
Paper on table and pencil in hand
An almost forgotten land
Covered with ashes and sand
There has to be a better place
Than travelling a path of a dying race
The pullotion has taken control
Leaving me in a coma of souls
Say goodbye, we all know why
Air and sun we took for granted
I'll make a bow for all we wanted
As the waves roll with the tide
In your innerself you will hide
As the waves roll with the tide
In your innerself you will hide
The lyrics to Memory Garden's "Judgement Day" are a powerful and thought-provoking commentary on humanity's relationship with God, the environment, and our own spiritual selves. The opening lines describe the vow of a sacred bow, a whispering that is honored and revered, symbolizing the singer's commitment to a higher power. However, this sacred oath cannot prevent the singer from acknowledging the fall from grace of God, and the pain and suffering that has endured for a decade.
The lyrics then shift to a discussion of humanity's mental and emotional state, with the singer feeling low in spirit and tired from the weight of evolution that has spun out of control. The road to madness, walked by generations, seems to be an ever-present threat, and the singer mourns the damage and destruction that has been wrought upon our planet and our heritage.
The ominous refrain of "As the waves roll with the tide, in your innerself you will hide" serves as a warning, suggesting that ultimately, we will be forced to confront the consequences of our actions and the state of our souls. The final lines of the song offer a glimmer of hope, as the singer vows to create a better path and to make a bow for all that we have wanted, suggesting that redemption may still be possible if we are willing to take responsibility for our actions.
