Not Worth Recovering
Meow Meow Lyrics

As if you pierced right through an artery
And every day is
As you said it would be
One step closer to the end
When I had you stripped away from me
And I will shine like
?? winter
Only to be snuffed by sunshine
And I will shine like
?? winter
Only to be snuffed by sunshine
Ah, ah ..
Oo, oo ..
Ah, ah ..
In a moment of
Clarity it became
Quite apparent that
Someday you would
Leave
these parts
You never belonged
Here anyway
But I clung to you
Knowing you'd go
And when you left
It hurt so much
But it didn't feel
Worth trying to get you back
The lyrics of Meow Meow's song Not Worth Recovering describe the aftermath of a breakup. The singer is reflecting on the suddenness of the separation, feeling as though the wound was deep and irreparable. They describe the days following the breakup as being one step closer to the inevitable end of life. The lyrics convey the sense of hopelessness and despair that can accompany a sudden and unexpected loss. The singer questions whether the effort of recovering from the loss is even worthwhile, suggesting that they believe it is not.
The lyrics also include imagery of contrasting elements, such as shining like winter, only to be snuffed out by sunshine. This metaphorical language represents the ephemeral nature of life and the fleeting nature of happiness. The lyrics also suggest that the singer has had a moment of clarity, realizing that the relationship was never meant to last and that the other person was never truly part of their world.

?? so very suddenly
You left me abruptly without any warning
As if you pierced right through an artery
The pain of your leaving felt like a sharp and sudden physical wound
And every day is
Each day that passes
As you said it would be
Is just as you predicted
One step closer to the end
Is bringing me closer to the conclusion of this chapter in my life
When I had you stripped away from me
When you were taken away from me against my will
Somehow it seemed not worth recovering
I didn't feel like trying to get you back was worth the effort or pain
And I will shine like
I will radiate light like
?? winter
The brightness of winter snow
Only to be snuffed by sunshine
But then disappear when the sun melts it away
In a moment of
During a moment of
Clarity it became
Realization hit me
Quite apparent that
It was clear to me that
Someday you would
You would eventually
Leave
Leave me behind
