Time, all the long red lines, that take control
Of all the smoke-like streams that flow into your dreams
That big blue open sea, that can't be crossed
That can't be climbed, just born between
Oh, the two white lines, distant Gods an' faded signs
Of all those blinking lights, you had to pick the one tonight
Holes, dug by little moles, angry jealous spies
Got telephones for eyes, come to you as friends
All those endless ends, that can't be tied
Oh, they make me laugh, and always make me cry
Till they drop like flies, and sink like polished stones
Of all the stones I throw, how does that old song go?
How does that old song go?
Bands, those funny little plans, that never work quite right

Saw this at Sing 2. I heard it and it sounded so nostalgic so I searched and searched and here I am.
This song and the scene were great together!

Such a beautiful song. What a treat to hear it when I took my kids to see Sing 2. Sounds just as great as when I heard it back in high school!

I always loved this song. Now that I see it with this video, it kind of gets to me in a different way. My mom died after battling poor health for a long time. At her funeral, I had bought some balloons to let go at her service. They had been in my car for awhile and when I let em' go, they all sank, except the one I got with a smiley face. I watched the balloon til it was so high I couldn't see it anymore. And the smiley face never turned away. Beautiful song.
