This was played at my best friend's funeral as his final song just 3 days ago, and while it scared the majority of the congregation, for the few who knew his music taste this fit his character perfectly and gave him the perfect send-off. I remember the first time I heard this track. I was at a rave in Puerto Rico up in the mountain's jungle and they set the stage up under an enormous tent. This song dropped, crowd went insane, DJ did a rewind and the place erupted in anticipation of him playing it again... the second time around it was just as sweet. Drum & bass has been seeing a surge in america and I LOVE showing the bass kids and wooks this tune.. They don't even know how much this blew minds when it first dropped.. And it's one of the only tunes that still finds its ways into mixes and live sets till this very day.

I was just telling my GF about the first time I heard this tune. I was at a party and Ed Rush & Matrix were playing b2b (Optical was sick or something). It was the last tune of the night. As soon as the synth dropped people started getting rowdy and when it dropped people went absolutely apeshit! I have NEVER seen such an intense reaction to ANY tune before or after. Needless to say it got an instant rewind. Proper fucking tunage. The remixes can't even TOUCH the perfection of the original.

Simon Shulgefella Old school Dj Fresh and Pendulum for example. Pendulums tune The Vault is considered to be the biggest clownstep tune. One sure fire sign of clownstep is taking the 160 bpm of DnB and switching it up to a offbeat 80bpm beat every 16th bar or so. Can be fun, but 3 hrs is a bit much.
Clownstep has nothing to do with dubstep.

When those intro synths started playing, people all over the venue would just swarm onto the floor. People at the bar probably dropped their beers and people in the toilets were surely running back not quite entirely finished.
It's not my absolute favourite dnb track and I don't think it's the best ever made. But it sure is the meanest drop ever and no other dnb track in history has created scenes of dancefloor mayhem quite like it. I remember mosh pits, people crowdsurfing. Strobes were most likely invented for the drop on this track. If you could muster enough consciousness to stop dancing for 2 seconds and look around you on the floor... pure insanity.

Many a drops I witnessed with this song. Many a dance floors got mashed the fuck up. I remember the remix dropping at one particular festival with thousands in attendance, beer flying everywhere, everyone bouncing - not dancing, bouncing! Just because they strayed from pure drum and bass doesn't make them bad. Granite was a little bit wonky but once they got used to more electronic things they made some badass songs. You can't possibly tell me that Witchcraft and The Island is BAD. Hell...that entire album was really good
