The members of Mew started playing music together in 1995. Mew first achieved success in Denmark with their album Frengers, although their debut album, A Triumph for Man, had been met with much critical acclaim back in 1997. At the 2003 Danish Music Critics Award Show, Mew won the awards for "Album of the Year" and "Band of the Year." Until this point Mew was relatively unknown outside of Denmark; however after a European tour supporting R.E.M. Mew began to attract wider attention. After releasing the critically-acclaimed album And The Glass Handed Kites, featuring contributions from J Mascis from Dinosaur Jr, Mew has built on their success in Denmark as well as attracting attention from other countries in Europe and Asia. In the summer of 2006, they toured as the supporting act for Bloc Party in the U.S. as well as for Kasabian in the U.S. and Canada in the fall. After these tours, they returned to Denmark to work on new material.
On March 14th, 2007, Mew embarked on their first ever headlining tour in America with Oh No! Oh My! as the supporting act. Their fifth studio album, No More Stories/Are Told Today/I'm Sorry/They Washed Away//No More Stories/The World Is Grey/I'm Tired/Let's Wash Away, was released in August 25, 2009. They've also toured with Nine Inch Nails, Kings of Leon and Sigur Rós. In 2010, they released a greatest hits compilation called Eggs are Funny. They began performing new material in 2012 at Roskilde Festival, and released their sixth studio album, +- in 2015. Madsen left the band the same year, and the band began writing new material for their new album shortly after they concluded their tour. They released their seventh studio album, Visuals, after releasing a few singles in the months preceding its release. They embarked on tours for the album, as well as a tour celebrating the 15th anniversary of their breakthrough album Frengers in 2018.

Interview
Mew Lyrics

In your chrysalis I go
'Cause you were right
And I know
We're live on the radio
You tell me that I need to get ready
As they interview the girls
For the quietness of their world
Are distant memories
Give your cruel ride to someone
Come back now
With your cinnamon outlook
This we'll carefully extinguish
The same warmth that helped me
The things you give stay given
For me to carry
Give your cruel ride to someone
I'll do anything
Call it a night
In the moonlight
Else we, else we never get home
Never sleep
Oh never leave, never leave
I’ll do anything
I'ma let you go and get back to work
Come along, take it slow a while with me
I'ma let you go, such important work
Day will come
Days have gone
While I was here waiting
Give your cruel ride to someone
I'l do anything
Call it a night
In the moonlight
Else we, else we never get home
Never sleep
Oh never leave, never leave
Give your cruel ride to someone
Our somersaults, our somersaults
I believe
I'll do anything not to cry on the radio this time
The lyrics in Mew's song "Interview" convey a sense of longing and vulnerability, as well as a hint of resignation. The singer is being told something important in a secretive manner, possibly indicating a hidden truth or a revelation. The line "In your chrysalis I go" implies a feeling of being enclosed or protected within someone else's world, possibly the person giving the interview.
The mention of being live on the radio suggests a public conversation or confession, where the singer is being interviewed along with other women. There is a mention of the "quietness of their world," which could mean that these women may have faced difficulties or challenges in their lives, leading to doubts that resemble earthquakes. However, these doubts are presented as distant memories, indicating a sense of resilience and overcoming hardships.
The chorus revolves around the idea of giving up a harsh or cruel experience to someone else, symbolizing a desire to move on and let go. There is a plea for a return to a more positive perspective, represented by the phrase "come back now with your cinnamon outlook." The mention of the moonlight and the desire to get home and never leave further emphasizes the longing for stability and comfort.
In the final verse, the singer expresses a willingness to let go and allow the person they are addressing to get back to work, acknowledging the importance of their responsibilities. The line "I'll do anything not to cry on the radio this time" shows a desire to avoid further vulnerability and emotional exposure.
Overall, "Interview" explores themes of secrets, vulnerability, resilience, and the desire for stability and emotional security.

Now I understand the situation a lot better. I think because they’re now under different management, it’s quite hard for them to work together or to simply interact with each other openly. Seems like they’re still good with each other, only “the system”, as Mew pointed out, prevents them to show it openly now. Hopefully they’ll find a way to work again in the future. Mew’s and Gulf’s chemistry on and off screen was just too strong and out of this world, would be a waste if they won’t use it again in other project(s) in the future.
Love that Mew was willing to discuss these sensitive issues (burntout and his current situation with Gulfs) openly. I just wish both of them a long successful career. And here’s for another collabs between these 2 in the future! Fingers crossed.

I remember G singing a song for his birthday 3 years ago, the lyrics said "The might not understand how our relationship and they might misunderstand and will probably speculate and believe what they want to believe. There're probably only the two of us, among the star clusters, who understand each other's hearts or must it be what's in the set standards. That some people have determined love to be? They do not need to know in what context we are dating, we should not look for words to explain, there is no need to love each other as lovers as long as we are happy. We are the only ones who understand the other lyrics in this world"

Mew, just do what you want to do, life is too short to please everyone all of the time. I'm a woman in her very late sixties, and feel that I would like to share this piece of advice, that I've learnt in my lifetime. The advice is this- there comes a time when you need to " PUT yourself 1st, PUT yourself 2nd and PUT yourself 3rd IN LIFE, and look after YOUR well-being! then you will be healthy, mentally and physically and have a loving relationship with your 'love one' ❤ in life and your family and real friends.. Don't let the 'hangers on ' drag you down. All the best to you Mew, take care. 🤗

I hope after this no interviewer asks him about Gulf. He made it clear that he has a partner who is outside of the entertainment industry and she is a really good match for him and he is crazy in love with her. He made everything clear here so I hope no one should bother them regarding this. Good luck to the couples and Gulf too for their future.

I like this interview very much - respectful, with good attitude and understanding to Mew as an actor, musician and person! He himself - calm, confident, happy and with a clear vision of what he wants professionally and personally. Good luck!

Seriously? Some fans were angry and sad not mainly because of whether Mew has someone or not, it is his attitudes over his fans. Did any of you noticed that M started the fight on Twitter by scolding a fan even did not tag him, and has any of you noticed that the fan was forced to apologize even after being bashed by people using different languages?
No one could deny the fact that Mew became famous is due to TT, and now he seemed to forget where he came from. Being a BL actor is not a shame, and existence of BL series made people open their eyes to see a bigger world. Also, yes, there were some negative fans, but it is hard to be avoided as a public figure. Mew should learn how to co-exist with different fans rather than taking the faults of a small group for a the whole group particularly those who have been constantly supporting him throughout the years.

So fans can't be scolded and put in their right place or what?
