DADDYS LITTLE GIRL
Michael Bublé Lyrics

You're the end of the rainbow, my pot of gold
You're daddy's little girl to have and hold
A precious gem is what you are
You're mommy's bright and shining star

You're the spirit of Christmas, my star on the tree
You're the Easter bunny to mommy and me
You're sugar you're spice, you're everything nice
And you're daddy's little girl

You're the end of the rainbow, a pot of gold
You're daddy's little girl to have and hold
A precious gem is what you are
You're mommy's bright and shining star

You're the spirit of Christmas, my star on the tree
You're the Easter bunny to mommy and me
You're sugar you're spice, you're everything nice
And you're daddy's little girl

You're the spirit of Christmas, the star on the tree
You're the Easter bunny for mommy and me

You're sugar you're spice, you're everything nice
And you're daddy's little girl

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Michael Bublé's song "Daddy's Little Girl" are a heartfelt tribute to a daughter. The song paints a picture of the immense love and adoration her parents have for her, symbolizing her as a precious gem, the spirit of Christmas, and even the Easter bunny. The repetition of the phrase "You're daddy's little girl" emphasizes the deep emotional connection and bond between the father and his daughter.

The opening line, "You're the end of the rainbow, my pot of gold," suggests that the daughter brings immense joy and happiness into the father's life, just like a pot of gold found at the end of a rainbow. It symbolizes her as a treasure, someone who brings fulfillment and meaning to his life. The following line, "You're daddy's little girl to have and hold," further underscores the father's affection and protective role towards his daughter. It implies that he cherishes her deeply and will always be there for her.

The second verse highlights the daughter's significance to her mother as well. "You're sugar, you're spice, you're everything nice, and you're daddy's little girl" portrays her as a symbol of sweetness, joy, and all things good in their lives. Through phrases like "the spirit of Christmas" and "the star on the tree," the song extends the metaphorical significance of the daughter. It suggests that she brings light and happiness to her family, just like the star that tops the Christmas tree.

You're the end of the rainbow, my pot of gold,
You're daddy's little girl to have and to hold.
A precious gem is what you are,
You're mom-my's bright and shi-ning star.
You're the spirit of Christmas, my star on the tree,
You're the Easter Bunny to mommy and me;
You're sugar, you're spice, you're ev'-ry-thing nice,
And you're daddy's little girl.

(Instrumental Interlude -- First Half)

You're the treasure I cherish, so sparkling and bright;
You were touched by the Holy and beautiful light.
Like angels that sing, a hea-ven-ly thing,
And you're daddy's little girl.

My Dad couldn't sing or dance, but when we danced to it at my wedding, the smile of happiness and pride on his face made me cry.  He passed away five years ago, but I still smile and get teary-eyed when I hear this song and think of that smile of his.  God, how I miss him.

My Grandfather raised me with my Grandmother and when I was little I was scared of the dark so he would lay with me and we'd say our prayers then he would always sing this to me. But he would replace daddy with Grandpas little girl💜💔 he had such a beautiful loving voice. I miss them both more than words could explain.. Rest in peace Grandma and Grandpa. I love yall with all my heart!

Today is the 18th anniversary of my father's death...he was killed in an accident when i was 11 years old. He used to sing this song to me before I'd go to sleep each night. Micheal Buble sings it wonderfully...but I'd give anything to hear my Daddy sing this to me one more time! RIP Daddy! <3
