Michael Bublé’s introduction to the music of the swing era came to him through his grandfather, who filled his grandson’s ears with the sounds of The Mills Brothers, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, and others. As Bublé eagerly absorbed the recordings, he began to realize that he wanted to be a singer and that this style of music, virtually foreign to his own generation, was what he wanted to perform.
With his grandfather’s assistance, Bublé soon learned a whole catalog of tunes and gained experience and exposure by singing as a guest with several local bands. While still in his teen years, he won the Canadian Youth Talent Search, released several independent albums, and performed in a musical review titled Swing that traveled across the U.S. It wasn’t long before Bublé was introduced to Grammy-winning producer David Foster during a famous Canadian wedding of Brian Mulroney’s daughter Caroline Mulroney. He later signed his first major recording contract with Reprise Records after that encounter.
The two Canadians began work on a debut album that would incorporate Bublé’s aptitude for pop standards into songs that spanned several decades. His self-titled debut disc was released in early 2003, and featured jazzy takes on old standards like “Fever” and “The Way You Look Tonight” as well as newer classics like “Moondance” and “How Can You Mend A Broken Heart”.
He finished off 2003 with an EP of holiday material, Let It Snow, and began 2004 with the live CD/DVD set Come Fly With Me. In 2005, It’s Time was a number one hit in Canada, Japan, Italy, and Australia, and made the top ten of both the UK and US. Later that year he released the live album Caught in the Act. More recently, Michael received a 2010 Grammy Award for 'Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album' for 'Michael Bublé Meets Madison Square Garden.

I've got you deep in the heart of me
You're so deep in my heart
That you're really a part of me
And I've got you under my skin
I've tried so not to give in
You know, I said to myself
But why should I try to resist
When baby I know so well
That I've got you way under my skin
I would sacrifice anything come what might
For the sake of having you near
In spite of a warning voice that comes in the night
And repeats in my ear
Don't you know, you fool, you never can win
Use your mentality, step up to reality
But each time I do, just the thought of you
Makes me stop before I begin
'Cause I've got you, you're under my skin
I'd sacrifice anything come what might
For the sake of having you near
In spite of a warning voice that comes in the night
And repeats how it yells in these ears
Don't you know, you fool
No chance to win
Why not choose your mentality
Wake up, step up to reality
But each time I do, just the thought of you
Makes me stop just before I begin
Because I've got you under my skin
And I love you under my skin
The lyrics of I've Got You Under My Skin by Michael Bublé speak of a deep and alluring love that the singer is unable to resist. The first verse establishes how the person he loves is so deeply rooted in his heart that he considers them a part of him. The second verse shows that he has tried to resist this attraction, but has failed to do so because of the intense desire he feels for the other person. The lyrics express the extent to which he is willing to go for the person he loves, even though a warning voice in his head tells him that it won't end well.
The chorus of I've Got You Under My Skin describes how the singer's love is an obsession that he cannot ignore. He is willing to make sacrifices for the sake of being near the person he loves, even though he knows that he might not win in the end. In the final verse, the warning voice in the singer's head repeats the same mantra, urging him to use his head and choose his mentality over his heart. However, he cannot resist the allure of his love, and the song ends with a declaration of how the person he loves is under his skin, and he loves them for it.
Overall, the lyrics of I've Got You Under My Skin convey the idea of love as an all-consuming force that is impossible to resist, even though the singer is aware of the risks involved. The song is a classic example of the power of love and how it can influence one's actions.
