Michael Bublé’s introduction to the music of the swing era came to him through his grandfather, who filled his grandson’s ears with the sounds of The Mills Brothers, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, and others. As Bublé eagerly absorbed the recordings, he began to realize that he wanted to be a singer and that this style of music, virtually foreign to his own generation, was what he wanted to perform.
With his grandfather’s assistance, Bublé soon learned a whole catalog of tunes and gained experience and exposure by singing as a guest with several local bands. While still in his teen years, he won the Canadian Youth Talent Search, released several independent albums, and performed in a musical review titled Swing that traveled across the U.S. It wasn’t long before Bublé was introduced to Grammy-winning producer David Foster during a famous Canadian wedding of Brian Mulroney’s daughter Caroline Mulroney. He later signed his first major recording contract with Reprise Records after that encounter.
The two Canadians began work on a debut album that would incorporate Bublé’s aptitude for pop standards into songs that spanned several decades. His self-titled debut disc was released in early 2003, and featured jazzy takes on old standards like “Fever” and “The Way You Look Tonight” as well as newer classics like “Moondance” and “How Can You Mend A Broken Heart”.
He finished off 2003 with an EP of holiday material, Let It Snow, and began 2004 with the live CD/DVD set Come Fly With Me. In 2005, It’s Time was a number one hit in Canada, Japan, Italy, and Australia, and made the top ten of both the UK and US. Later that year he released the live album Caught in the Act. More recently, Michael received a 2010 Grammy Award for 'Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album' for 'Michael Bublé Meets Madison Square Garden.
Whatever It Takes
Michael Bublé Lyrics

It's out of our hands
But for all it's worth
I'm drawing a line in the sand
Another morning just won't do
I need your love to shine on through
Or it won't be new
I'll find it
Whatever it takes my love
To put the lonely days behind us
I'm laying it down
Whatever it takes my love
If there's a chance
For two hearts to celebrate
To blow out some candles
And tempt the hand of fate
You make a wish, I'll make one too
But close your eyes love when you do
Or it won't be true
Whatever it takes my love
I'll find it
Whatever it takes my love
To put the lonely days behind us
I'm laying it down
Whatever it takes my love
'Cause I've been wandering around
With the same old blues
That have been dragging me down
If you feel the same way too
Maybe it just takes two
And if we give thanks
For our love at each new dawn
We'll find the strength
And the will to carry on
The sun alone will never do
Without your love to shine on through
It just won't be new
Whatever, oh, whatever it takes my love
To put the lonely days behind us
I'm laying it down
Whatever it takes my love
Oh, whatever it takes my love, oh
To put the lonely days behind us
I'm laying it down
Whatever it takes my love, my love, my love
Whatever it takes, whatever it takes my love
To put the lonely days behind us
I'm laying it down
Whatever it takes my love
The lyrics of Michael Bublé's Whatever It Takes revolve around love, and how two people can overcome a difficult situation through love. The song is about being hurt by love in the past, but still believing that love can conquer all obstacles. The lyricist is telling their partner that they are laying everything on the line and are willing to do whatever it takes to make their love work.
The chorus of the song emphasizes this point by stating, “Whatever it takes my love, I'll find it/Whatever it takes my love to put the lonely days behind us/I'm laying it down, whatever it takes my love.” There is a sense of determination and optimism in these words that reassures the listener that the couple will overcome any adversity. The song suggests that if both parties work together and believe in their love, they can conquer anything, and even the sun will shine brighter.
Overall, the song is about refusing to give up on love and fighting for it, no matter what it takes. The lyrics are hopeful and emphasize the power of love, reminding us that anything is possible with the right attitude.
