Shu-bi-dua:
Solo-kariere:
Hawaii

en palme staar paa staar paa strandens bred
mens solen gaar ned.
tar' man skralderne paa
saa Aloha min ven.
The song "Hawaii" by Michael Hardinger is a nostalgic ode to Hawaii, describing the beauty and serenity of the island. The first verse starts with the line "Hawaii, a smell of pineapple and curry," which creates an image of the island's distinct scent. The second line mentions a palm tree standing tall on the beach, as the sun sets. This imagery draws attention to Hawaii's natural beauty and tranquil atmosphere. In the second verse, the lyrics describe the singer's imagination running wild, fantasizing about seeing crocodiles, which are then transformed into bags and shoes. This creative perspective reveals how free and imaginative the singer feels in Hawaii.
The third verse beautifully compares the lovely fish found in Hawaii to an aquarium, and as the cicadas start their song, night suddenly falls. The use of this imagery indicates how quickly the day turns into night in Hawaii. The fourth verse talks about the hotels popping up like wildfire, while guests dance to Jazz music behind the façade's shiny glass. The fifth and final verse talks about the bananas that cost less than the seller thinks they do. After eating them, the singer suggests collecting the banana peels. Overall, the song "Hawaii" is a love letter to the island, exploring its natural beauty and the joys it offers.
