He is holy and just
By His power we trust
In His love
Great is the Lord
He is faithful and true
By His mercy He proves
He is love
Great is the Lord
And worthy of glory
Great is the Lord
And worthy of praise
Great is the Lord
Now lift up your voice
Now lift up your voice
Great is the Lord
Great is the Lord
Great is the Lord,
He is holy and just
By His power we trust
In His love
Great is the Lord
He is faithful, and true
By His mercy He proves
He is love
Great is the Lord
And worthy of glory
Great is the Lord
And worthy of praise
Great is the Lord
Now lift up your voice
Now lift up your voice
Great is the Lord
Great is the Lord
Great are you Lord
And worthy of glory
Great are you Lord
And worthy of praise
Great are you Lord
I lift up my voice
I lift up my voice
Great are you Lord
Great are you Lord
The above lyrics are from Michael W. Smith's song Great Is The Lord. The song begins with a desire to be close to God, stating the wish to rest in his arms and hear his heartbeats, as well as to be at his feet, where everything fades away. The song then goes on to express the desire to surrender everything and let go of all fears and worries, pouring out all admiration and love towards Jesus. The chorus repeats the surrender and asks Jesus to take over everything.
The overall theme of the lyrics is surrender to God and how it can bring peace and comfort to a person's life. It highlights the importance of connecting with God on a personal level, and emphasizes the need to let go of one's own desires and fears in order to receive his love and blessings. The song encourages the listener to put their trust in God and to fully surrender their life to him.
