1) MICHELLE is a fresh musical collective hailing from New York City. Weaving in and out of R&B, Pop, Jazz and Indie sounds, the group of six pays homage to these genres through 70s inspired basslines, driving drum beats, plush synths and enticing vocals. Having recently celebrated their first year on the scene as an ensemble, MICHELLE is already solidifying itself as a strong current in a new wave of emerging NYC staples. MICHELLE’s unique stylings are the result of fine-tuned production and arrangements by Julian Kaufman and Charlie Kilgore, with singers Jamee Lockard, Layla Ku, Sofia D’Angelo, and Emma Lee churning out illustrative lyrics and powerful harmonics. Written and recorded in Kaufman’s bedroom over the span of two weeks, their debut album “HEATWAVE” captures a compilation of sentimental moments – snapshots of youth through a New York summer, all immediately recognizable to those who’ve lived them (and those that have wished to).

Dann überlegt man gut
Da war 'ne Bussi-Party überall
Der pure Wahnsinn - so mit Überschall
Hummer, Kavier und Langweile zum Desser
Plötzlich war mir klar,
Wie schön der Abend mit dir wär
Mit Romantik und viel Zärtlichkeit
Für uns beide wird es höchste Zeit
Chorus
Jede kleine Hütte machst du zum Traumpalast
Weil du doch meine Liebe für's ganze Leben hast
Chorus
The song "Schlafsack oder Himmelbett" by Michelle depicts a woman who is torn between two men, one who has everything materialistic and the other whom she truly loves. The first man offers her champagne and wants to give her the luxurious life, but the singer refuses as she only wants her true love. She then reflects on her past, remembering the times when she was poor and now that she has the potential to be with a rich man, she chooses love over materialistic possessions.
The chorus is an expression of the singer's desire to have both, a simple and comfortable life with her loved one and a luxurious lifestyle filled with expensive cars, food, and champagne. But she knows that it is not possible to have both and that love is the most important aspect of her life. In the end, she emphasizes that her partner makes every place wonderful, and she wants to spend her life with him.
Overall, the song portrays the idea that love triumphs over materialistic possessions and luxurious lifestyles. The singer chooses her loved one over the wealthy man who offers her a life of luxury.
