Marek left the band (trading his guitar for bass and joining local punkers Deville). Once again a three piece unit, the band headed into the studio to record a three song demo in the summer of 2001. But it soon became clear that something was missing, so the band set out to find a new guitarist. Within months of acquiring the new guitarist, Midpoint was picked to play the home date of the 2002 Vans Warped Tour after being chosen by a panel of judges from the Ernieball Musicman Battle of the Bands.
The next 4 months were spent recording alongside established engineer Brad Hawkins. “Shutup, That’s Why” (Second Best Records) was released in February 2003. Their current endeavors include the production of a music video, the promotion of the new CD using radio, television, and of course touring. They plan to hit the road again this summer including a second cross-Canada tour and a venture into the western US.

Dynamite
Midpoint Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
But I've done nothing wrong
Drawn into a place I'd rather not be
Why did you bring me along
Now I'm the one who's left to suffer
What makes you think I owe you an answer
What's done is wrong, it's passed and gone
It's time for you to figure it out It may be hard for you
That I am not the same I don't want to be a part
of your delusional games
Now I'm the one who's left to suffer
A problem that was yours has slowly turned into mine
It could have been left alone Everything would have been fine
In the song "Dynamite," Midpoint expresses their feelings of rage, sadness, and guilt, despite not being responsible for any wrongdoing. The lyrics suggest that they were dragged into a situation they did not want to be in, causing them to suffer the consequences of someone else's actions. The singer questions the person who put them in this situation, indicating that they do not owe them any answers. Furthermore, the song talks about how the problem that was initially someone else's has now become theirs, and how it could have been avoided if it was handled differently.
Overall, "Dynamite" seems to be about misplaced blame and responsibility. The singer is forced to suffer the consequences of someone else's actions and feels powerless in a situation they did not choose. The lyrics are emotionally charged and convey a sense of frustration and helplessness. The song encourages listeners to take ownership of their actions and emphasizes the importance of being accountable for oneself.
