Waterloo Sunset
Mig Lyrics

Flowing into the night
People so busy, makes me feel dizzy
Taxi light shines so bright
Terry meets Julie, Waterloo station
Every Friday night
But I am so lazy, don't want to wander
But I don't need no friends
As long as I gaze on Waterloo sunset
I am in paradise
As long as I gaze on Waterloo sunset
I am in paradise
Every day I look at the world from my window
But chilly, chilly is the evening time
And Waterloo sunset's fine
Millions of people
Swarming like flies 'round Waterloo underground
But Terry and Julie cross over the river
Where they feel safe and sound
And the don't feel afraid
As long as they gaze on Waterloo sunset
They are in paradise
As long as they gaze on Waterloo sunset
There are in paradise
Every day I look at the world from my window
But chilly, chilly is the evening time
And Waterloo sunset's fine, fine, fine, fine, fine
But I don't need no friends and I won't feel afraid
As long as I gaze on Waterloo sunset
I am in paradise
As long as I gaze on Waterloo sunset
I am in paradise
As long as I gaze on Waterloo sunset
Come, as long as I gaze on Waterloo sunset
I am fine, fine, fine, fine
The song Waterloo Sunset by Mig Ayesa is a cover of the original song by The Kinks. The lyrics of this song capture a snapshot of life in London along the River Thames. The singer observes the river that flows into the night and the busy people rushing about their lives. The image of the bright taxi light that shines amidst the chaos is mesmerizing.
The song introduces us to a couple named Terry and Julie, who meet every Friday night at Waterloo station. Even though the singer could go out and wander, he chooses to stay at home and watch the world from his window. He doesn't need friends as long as he gazes upon Waterloo sunset, which makes him feel like he's in paradise. The lyrics describe the safety and sense of serenity that Terry and Julie feel when they cross the river and gaze upon the Waterloo sunset. They are also in paradise just like the singer. The song repeats the chorus several times, emphasising the significance of the scene for the characters in this story.
