2. MIKE is a punk rock band from Stockholm, Sweden.
MIKE started in January 2006 by Joel, Fredrik, Viktor and Jesper. The four guys from the southern part of Stockholm/Sweden had all played in different bands for years. Back in 1996 Viktor started a band called No Division with a friend. Jesper joined the band in 2000 (then called Pronoid), where they both played for five years. Joel played in the band Dechas, who released an EP on DayGlo Records in 2000 and an album on Shutdown Records in Australia in 2002. Fredrik had been playing in the band In Memory Of Me and in different bands before that. Jesper and Joel played together from time to time for a while and they both love punk rock, and when Jesper quit Pronoid they started talking about playing punk together. They talked to their old friends Viktor and Fredrik and started jamming some of Jespers songs and the result is what today is known as the band MIKE. After about a year our good friend Fredrik decided to quit the band to play with a reggae band from Uppsala. We then tried out two drummers but decided to pick one of Joel's old friends, Totte. He'd earlier been the drummer in bands like Milk bar, Devoured, Songea and Simpleton. Experience and routine was a fact. He'd actually only been in the band for about a week when he performed his first show with MIKE, and a week after that we went into the studio to record a couple of songs.

It's only tough 'cause they ain't show me affection
Only us, it was the only suggestion I gave
I take the rush, then I slowly regret it
You say it's up, well they know me for stretchin' and praise
Exchanging trust 'cause it showed me a lesson
I make the jump if it show me redemption and faith
I wait a bunch, I wait to fuck
They say with grudges how them lonely niggas rest in they grave
They change thе subject, how I'm supposed to respеct it?
You say you want me but you've known me for seconds, it's strange
My greatest hunch should be exposin' they weapon
My favorite buzz'll be the rope of reception or race
My face be numbin', so devoted and restless
My sacred mother, why I'm overprotective and safe
Be sayin' much, but it ain't sober discretion, it's laced
I sent my love, let me know if you get it
I'm blazed and probably drunk
Scared to open your message for days, I'm out of luck
I sent my love, let me know if you get it
I sent my love, let me know if you get it
In the song "Airdrop," Mike explores themes of love, trust, and communication in relationships. The opening line, "I sent my love, let me know if you get it," suggests a feeling of uncertainty and vulnerability - the singer has expressed their love, but they are unsure if it will be received or understood. The following lines further elucidate this feeling of doubt: "It's only tough 'cause they ain't show me affection / Only us, it was the only suggestion I gave." The singer seems to feel as though their expressions of affection have gone unnoticed or unreciprocated, and that they may have given too much too soon.
The chorus, "I sent my love, let me know if you get it," repeats throughout the song, further highlighting the theme of communication and the desire for validation that underlies the singer's words. The lines "Scared to open your message for days, I'm out of luck" suggest that the singer is waiting anxiously for a response, but fears that it may not be what they want.
The song's verses touch on other elements of the singer's emotional landscape, such as regret, self-doubt, and the fear of being hurt. Lines like "I take the rush, then I slowly regret it" and "My face be numbin', so devoted and restless" indicate a push-and-pull dynamic between the singer's desires and their emotional boundaries. Ultimately, "Airdrop" portrays a complex and vulnerable emotional landscape, one in which love, trust, and communication are often fraught and uncertain.
