Promised Land
Mike Nawrocki Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

We didn't have a lot of fun in the desert
We didn't have a lot of fun in the sand
So saddle up your cow and fall behind us now
Cause we're going to the promised land

For years I've eaten nothing but manna
The dish that is filling but bland
But we're on our way, I'll have a cheese souffle
Cause we're going to the promised land

Well, in the promised land, it's gonna be so grand
We'll have our fill from the grill as much as we can stand
It'll be so great oh, we can hardly wait
Cause we're going to the promised land

The dining was lousy with Moses
But we'll be feasting with Josh in command
I'd like a taco please with some pintos and cheese
Cause we're going to the promised land

In the promised land, it's gonna be so grand
We'll have our fill from the grill as much as we can stand
It'll be so great oh, we can hardly wait
Cause we're going to the promised land

In the promised land, it's gonna be so grand
We'll have our fill from the grill as much as we can stand
It'll be so great with waffles on my plate
Cause we're going to the promised land

Waffles sound so good right now
I can just see the feast

They saw it's flowing with milk and honey
They say it's flowing with milk and honey
It's flowing with milk and honey
Cause we're going to the promised land

In the promised land, it's gonna be so grand
We'll have our fill from the grill as much as we can stand
It'll be so great oh, we can hardly wait
Cause we're going to the promised land

In the promised land, it's gonna be so grand
We'll have our fill from the grill as much as we can stand

It'll be so great with waffles on my plate
Cause we're going to the promised land

Overall Meaning

The song "Promised Land" by Mike Nawrocki is an upbeat and catchy tune that tells the story of the Israelites on their journey to the promised land. The song describes the hardships they faced in the desert, but also the hope and excitement they had as they approached their destination. The lyrics make use of food imagery to convey the idea of abundance and luxury that the Israelites would experience in the promised land.

The first verse of the song speaks to the difficult conditions the Israelites faced during their years of wandering in the desert. They didn't have much fun in the sand and they were limited in terms of food, surviving on manna, a simple bread-like substance that was said to have fallen from the sky. But now, the time has come to leave the desert behind and move towards the promised land. The second verse describes the excitement and anticipation they felt as they approached their destination. The singer imagines indulging in foods that they previously could only dream of, like cheese souffle, tacos, and waffles.

The chorus of the song reinforces the idea that the promised land will be a land of plenty. The Israelites will be able to feast to their heart's content and enjoy the abundance of milk and honey that the land is said to offer. Overall, the lyrics of "Promised Land" convey the sense of hope and excitement that the Israelites must have felt as they approached the end of their long journey.

You know what Netflix should do next? A reboot of "Larry-Boy: The Cartoon Adventures", under the reboot title, "Larry-Boy: The New Cartoon Adventures", with the flash program now animated under widescreen. We'd still get the theme song in the opening, a bonus cartoon adventure after the main episode, and an off-screen narrator, narrating each episode and providing motivation to the characters.

I think if the character designs weren't changed and butchered then this would be easier to watch. It's a classic lesson in "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." Why on Earth did they change such recognisable and appealing designs?

Is it just me or does Phil Visher and Mike Nawrocki look like they were paid to praise their butchered work?
