Micheal Trempenau was born in Denmark, and grew up in Vesterbro with his single mother and two brothers, Dennis and Kim. Mike started his musical career singing in a youth group club in Copenhagen called Vesterbro Ungdomsgård, and appears on their first album: Vi lever på Vesterbro (1974). Later he was the lead singer of the Danish pop band Mabel, who recorded four albums and was popular in Denmark and Spain, and Mike quickly became of "teen idol" status. In 1978 Mabel won the Danish Melody Contest with the song Boom Boom and represented Denmark in the Eurovision Song Contest that year. Mabel moved to New York City in the late 1970s to pursue a harder rock career. even changing to a more appropriate band name ("Studs"), but soon broke up. After the demise of Mabel, Tramp met Vito Bratta, guitarist for the band Dreamer, and they formed White Lion.
After White Lion broke up in 1992 Mike formed the rock band "Freak of Nature", which released three albums from 1992 to 1994.
In 1997 Tramp started a respected career as a solo artist.
The style of his music these days is pure rock, reminiscent of Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty but with a bit of a harder edge to it. Lyrically he often writes about his life and therefore his songs often span a lot of real, seemingly personal emotions.
There was a White Lion Comeback Album in 2008 with an accompanying tour featuring Mike on vocals and a new, younger White Lion line-up.
On October 5, 2009 he released his seventh solo album 'Mike Tramp and The Rock 'N' Roll Circuz'.
Mike Tramp and The Rock-N-Roll Circuz are currently busy touring to promote their latest album, "Stand Your Ground".
Homesick

Years as lonely on this highway
Wearing down this black [?] once again
Never show where I'm going
Tomorrow I will do it all again
Long ago, I had my reasons
I let it all became a way of life
I dressed the same for every season
Yeah, miles and miles [?] keep on going
'Til you wake up right before you hit the wall
When you ask yourself which way the wind is blowing
I guess I could be homesick after all
Restless night, I miss the breakfast once again
In narrow [?] just to find my keys
Stay true, report me over [?] let me go
You always should remember to say "Please"
Another cover band, pretending to be kissed
There's just no way to run from Jean and Paul
No dressing room or just a place to take a piss
And long before the final curtain call
Yeah, miles and miles [?] keep on going
'Til you wake up right before you hit the wall
When you ask yourself which way the wind is blowing
I guess I could be homesick after all
Your hair is getting gray, your beard's already great
You never thought that day would ever come
The music sounds the same, but really, who's to blame?
There was a time, but that was long ago
Yeah, miles and miles [?] keep on going
'Til you wake up right before you hit the wall
When you ask yourself which way the wind is blowing
I guess I could be homesick after all
Yeah, miles and miles [?] keep on going
'Til you wake up right before you hit the wall
When you ask yourself which way the wind is blowing
I guess I could be homesick after all
Yeah, I guess I could be homesick after all
Yeah, I guess I could be homesick after all
Mike Tramp's song "Homesick" is all about the struggles of being a musician on the road. The song's lyrics depict the journey of a musician who is going through a rough patch and is struggling with being away from home. The opening line "Years as lonely on this highway" conveys the loneliness that comes with being on the road for extended periods of time. The phrase "Wearing down this black [?]" seems to indicate the physical toll that the road takes on a person, and the line "Never show where I'm going" shows the uncertainty that comes with the unpredictability of a musician's life.
The second verse paints a picture of the challenges of being on the road. The line "Restless night, I miss the breakfast once again" conveys the erratic schedule and the lack of a routine that comes with gigging. The mention of a "cover band" and "Jean and Paul" suggests that the singer is playing in small town bars with no glamour or luxury. The final verse is a poignant reminder that time passes quickly, and the line "Your hair is getting gray, your beard's already gray" poignantly suggests the realization that nothing lasts forever.
Overall, "Homesick" is a song that conveys the challenges and difficulties of life on the road for a musician. The lyrics paint a vivid picture of the loneliness, the challenges, and the realization that time passes quickly.
