Mino Lyrics

Cet enfant militaire, cet enfant soldat
Vois mon âme s′abime, dans l'urgence l′art s'anime
Libertad oui, libertad
Oui, libertad, libertad
Mino's song "Libertad" explores themes of personal freedom, internal struggles, and societal conditioning. In the first verse, Mino describes being captivated by someone, as their image is permanently etched in his mind. He perceives a connection with this person, even feeling as though they communicate with each other. This person is referred to as a "child soldier," symbolizing the internal conflict and battles one faces within themselves.
The chorus emphasizes the concept of liberty, highlighting the irony of being unconsciously unaware of our own lack of freedom. Mino suggests that our choices are merely superficial and limited, represented as colors on a palette. This implies that society conditions and manipulates individuals, restricting their ability to truly exercise free will.
In the second verse, Mino discusses the lack of trust he has in both women and men, specifically those who trust women. He unveils the negativity that jealousy and hatred can bring, contributing to the entrapment and imprisonment of individuals. The lyrics also reference the power dynamics controlled by those who financially position themselves, leaving Mino feeling oppressed and yearning for change. He expresses frustration that his voice is often unheard while he witnesses injustice and oppression.
Mino then addresses the importance of expressing oneself without harboring resentment, advocating for kindness and empathy. He suggests that true enlightenment is disregarded, and people instead focus on finding a way out of their situation. The lyrics also allude to societal norms and expectations, comparing humans to animals. Mino implicates the vulnerability and intimacy associated with human relationships, both face-to-face and the potential betrayal and deceit that occurs behind one's back.
The repetitive chorus reaffirms the idea of liberty, emphasizing the unconsciousness of our lack of freedom. The final section of the song references being revealed by one's heart and elevated by personal accomplishments. Mino concludes by celebrating the notion of "Libertad" and the desire for freedom in its various forms.
