1. Minuit (pronounced min-wee) are an Electronic/Pop band from New Zealand, originally from Nelson. The members of Minuit are Paul Dodge, Ruth Carr and Ryan Beehre.
They first came to prominence in 2002 when their single 'Species II' was used in the intro to the New Zealand gay and lesbian lifestyle TV show Queer Nation. Their highly original debut album, "The 88", was released in late 2003. A video of the single "Except U" was made by Alyx Duncan - a project that achieved much acclaim. Then in 2005 came the limited edition 5 track "Guns EP", featuring the single "I hate guns" (which had an animated video mimicking the TV show "Are You Being Served). Released in 2006 was the album "The Guards Themselves", and with this album the band turned to Alyx Duncan once again to make a video for their single 'Fuji'. The album also includes a video for "Suave as Sin" directed by Mike Bridgman featuring a 4 yr old Kiel Beehre. The Minuit live show has been touring NZ and Europe extensively throughout 2006-07, while they release a handful of 12" vinyl remixes. Minuit are set to release the UK/Europe version of their previous albums in 2008, titled, "I went to a party and there were 88 Guards with Guns"
2. Minuit, also known as Minuit de lacroix is a Mexican electronic musician from Tijuana.

Minuit Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
and my heart did something drastic
you’re not the one
but I think you’re fantastic
my head has thoughts
that will remain unspoken
I think my hearts really broken
I think my hearts really broke
I would not fear death
if I could take you with me
I don’t believe in anything that I see
Except bits of you and possibly bits of me
this chaos has consistency
you’re a menace,
to the female sex,
you’re a menace, baby
this chaos has consistency,
but I think you’re fantastic
In Minuit's song "Menace," the lyrics describe a contradictory range of emotions and thoughts that the singer is experiencing. At the start of the song, the singer is admiring someone's smile but acknowledges that this person is not the one for them. As the song progresses, the singer's thoughts become more fragmented, and it becomes clear that they are struggling with heartbreak. The line "my head has thoughts that will remain unspoken" suggests that the singer is holding back from expressing their true emotions, and this repression has led to a sense of brokenness within their heart.
The chorus of the song further emphasizes the confusion that the singer is feeling. The lyrics "I would not fear death if I could take you with me" reveal a deep attachment to the person they are singing about. However, in the same breath, the singer admits, "I don’t believe in anything that I see," indicating a general sense of skepticism or disillusionment. Despite their doubts, the singer still finds parts of themselves in the other person: "Except bits of you and possibly bits of me." This line suggests that the singer is projecting their own qualities onto the person they are admiring, and this projection might be part of the reason they are struggling to move on from this relationship.
