EYES
Minus Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

He regrets having no regrets
And his long nights on the outside
Letting it slide
One more time
He cant stand it when you talk to him in that voice that sounds like your mother
He's watching your mouth move
He turns words into white noise
He blocks you out

What do you want, what do you want to know?
The good decision
Never feels like the right time, girl
(What do you want, what do you want to know?)
You think he's a liar
So save your sorrow

He wants to, want nothing
Nothing to do with the woman
Who fall in love with his lies, eyes
And you think that he listens

While you act like you are losing your mind
Over whatever truth you find to be a lie
As he fades out of the room, into his mind

What do you want, what do you want to know?
The good decision
Never feels like the right time, girl
(What do you want, what do you want to know?)
Think he's a liar
So save your sorrow

Pick up the pieces of these words
Shattered across the floor
With careful hands
You know his words are sharp
and you can read the blood
You can read the blood
You can read the blood
You can read the blood
(What do you want, what do you want to know?)
You can read the blood

Spells out everything about one man
Who he is and where he's been
You watch his eyes ten thousand times

But you don't see
Maybe you're wrong

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Minus's song "Eyes" are about a man who has no regrets but also cannot handle the emotional intimacy of a relationship. He tends to let things slide and shuts down when he feels overwhelmed by his partner's emotions. He also turns her words into white noise and blocks her out emotionally. She is left wondering what she wants and what she wants to know. She struggles to decipher whether he's a liar or if she's wrong about him altogether.

The song is likely about the emotional disconnect many people experience in relationships. It highlights the importance of emotional vulnerability and intimacy in any healthy relationship, the inability to exhibit this behavior may lead to the breakup of the relationship. The lyrics also suggest that the man is aware of his emotional disconnection and regrets it, but he is unable to change his behavior.

Had this done yesterday, fascinating to watch how it was done.

The second part where the surgeon removes the material out, there is some pain and noticeable pressure, not going to sugar coat it.

First day after now, feeling a good amount of discomfort, hazy vision, and this weird gritty feeling in both eyes.

- second day edit

Less pain, better vision, still a bit hazy and dry eyes, but definitely better than yesterday

@Chilli Extract getting lasik at an earlier age will always be better, but I was told to wait until at least 25 years old and and to also wait until your vision stabilizes. your optometrist will know exactly when you're an ideal candidate for lasik. I made the mistake of waiting into my late thirties.

> I’m guessing your vision is noticeably worse than with glasses but much better than without glasses before the surgery?

My vision now is MUCH better than before, with or without glasses or contacts. That's to say, I can see more clear now than ever before.

> The whole issue for me is that I hate having to deal with glasses and contact lenses everyday and waking up and not being able to seeâ€Ļ

100% THE reason to get lasik, it's wild not to have to deal with glasses and contacts everyday

> When you say your vision isn’t perfect, would you be able to describe in what way?

So at night, especially, when I look at a point of light - let's say a street light in the distance - it's not a perfect point of light, it diffracts or "splits" into multiple points. It isn't too bad, but definitely noticeable. But in terms of sharpness, it's better than 20/20, especially in daytime.

> Lastly, why did you go with SMILE & do you have any thoughts in hindsight on whether you think it would’ve been better to get Laser/Lasik done instead?

I was scheduled for "traditional" lasik, but a facility in my area that specializes in SMILE had a deal that was bout $2k less than the lasik. I think you'll be good either way, both procedures are now extremely good and reliable.

@igbatious No worries, I’m really curious as I’m 21 and plan on getting laser eye surgery in the next few years so I’m just trying to balance out the good and bad to see if it’s the right decision to make.

I’m really glad that your eyes are okay and that you are still happy with the results by the way 👍

I see, so not perfect vision but still worth having the surgery? I’m guessing your vision is noticeably worse than with glasses but much better than without glasses before the surgery?

The whole issue for me is that I hate having to deal with glasses and contact lenses everyday and waking up and not being able to seeâ€Ļ

When you say your vision isn’t perfect, would you be able to describe in what way? Blurry in certain areas perhaps or just not perfect vision across the board as if you had -0.5 vision for example?

Lastly, why did you go with SMILE & do you have any thoughts in hindsight on whether you think it would’ve been better to get Laser/Lasik done instead?

Thanks for getting back to me

@Chilli Extract thanks for asking.

I think I fully recovered in about 10 days, but I was seeing starburst and halo for weeks after.

I still have some aberrations in vision at night, but have gotten used to it.

Day time vision is perfect.

I'm still quite happy that I got it, despite not having 100% quality vision, especially at night.

I got this done 2 days ago and I can see clearly from the very next day with no pain or discomfort. I watched this video before the surgery and wasn't sure if I wanted to get this procedure done. The surgery lasted for 10-12min and recovery is very fast too, technology is amazing.
