Elliott is one of the first female hip hop superstars, known for a long series of hits including "The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly)", "Hit 'Em Wit Da Hee", "Get Ur Freak On", "One Minute Man", "Work It", and "Lose Control". In addition she has received recognition as one of the most successful songwriters of the modern music era, having crafted a number of hit records for artists such as Aaliyah, 702, Total, Ciara, Nicole Wray and Tweet, often with production-partner and childhood friend Timbaland. She was the third female rapper to ever go Platinum, behind Lil' Kim and Da Brat.
Born in Portsmouth, Virginia, she began her career in the all-girl R&B group, Sista in 1993. Eventually, the band folded and Elliott began her career as a solo rapper. Since the early 1990's, Elliott has won six Grammys, recently scoring one for her video of "Lose Control."
Other releases are 'Teary Eyed' and 'We Run This', and the last of these two songs will be the main single of the new greatest hits album titled 'Respect M.E.: Best Of' featuring 17 tracks from her six albums.

And you'll be spending many, many nights home alone (home alone)
You won't be seeing me around your way
No, no
And if you don't get it together
Baby, I can't stay
Don't be comin' in my face (no, no)
Tryna tell me you love me (no, no)
You should of thought once or twice (uh-huh)
Sacrifice to make it right (ooh)
It's the thing that you do
Make me not love you
So just wait and you'll see
Get no other love like me
You never know I'm for real until I leave, uh-huh (uh-huh)
And when I pack up my clothes, don't be calling me (calling me)
You won't be seeing me (seeing me)
Anymore

'Cause when I'm long, long gone
I won't be back in this door
Don't be comin' in my face (don't)
Tryna tell me you love me
You should of thought once or twice (ayy)
Sacrifice and make it right
It's the thing that you do (yeah)
Make me not love you (ooh)
So just wait, and you'll see (say what?)
Get no other love like me (uh-huh)
To my east side people to my west side
To all my bitches who sat home cryin'
Over these niggas and over these fellas
Shake 'em off like Jello (uh-huh)
To the east side people to my west side
To all my bitches who sat home cryin'
Over these niggas and over these fellas
Shake 'em off like Jello (uh-huh)
Don't be comin' in my face
Tryna tell me you love me
You should of thought once or twice
Sacrifice to make it right
It's the thing that you do
Make me not love you
So just wait and you'll see
Get no other love like me
I used to stick closer to your side then a beeper (uh-huh)
'Til you smoked that cheaper reefer
Now you loony as feta, cheddar
Don't say a word
Yep, I got the word
Yeah, I heard it from a little bird
Now I'm out the door
About four-four
You don't know?
Get your bags and your things take the door
Don't take this shit no more
When you leave
You can leave out the back door (oh oh oh, oh oh oh)
Motherfucka, haha
Stupid niggas, haha, yeah
Who always think they can play somebody
Y'all know who y'all are, haha
Tryna run 'bout three and four, five women at one time
Then you wanna come back all in our faces, and and
Telling me how much you love me and all that bullshit, haha
Yeah, whatever man, haha
Fuck you
Alright, I'm out
The lyrics of Missy Elliott's song "Don't Be Comin' in 2-3" are about a relationship that has ended and the singer is warning her ex-lover not to try and come back into her life. The repeated chorus emphasizes that her ex-lover should have thought twice about their actions before the breakup as now she won't be around anymore. The verse specifies how the 'thing that you do' - perhaps the ex's indiscretions - made her lose her love for him. The lyrics are a way of criticizing men who don't treat women with respect and take them for granted.
The first part of the song is about warning the ex-lover, "Don't be coming in my face trying to tell me you love me," and that he lost his chance with her by not treating her right. She tells him that he will spend many lonely nights without her and she won't be seeing him around town. The chorus reiterates that the ex-lover should have thought about his actions before it was too late.
The second verse is about moving on and never looking back. She says she won't be seeing him anymore and when she packs up her clothes, he shouldn't call her. The chorus is sung again, warning the ex-lover he won't find another love like her. The song ends with a spoken-word monologue against men who sleep around and cheat on their partners.
