Fly Away
Mitsuko Horie; Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Dreaming
Fly away
Faraway
Fly away
Faraway

Dreaming
Fly away
Faraway
Fly away
Faraway
Fly away
Faraway
Fly away

Faraway

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to "Fly Away" by Mitsuko Horie describe a day with perfect flying conditions. The runway is like a rainbow painted across the sky, and the wind is blowing strong from the south. With a passport in hand, anyone can go not just to unknown places, but also to the future. The singer encourages listeners to hold onto their dreams and never give up, before declaring that they and everyone around them are like planes taking off towards the horizon.

In the second verse, the singer reflects on the idea that tomorrow can always be better than today, and even a slightly better day is something to cherish. Instead of looking backwards, the singer wants listeners to always chase their dreams. The chorus then repeats, reminding everyone that they can be like silver birds soaring towards the sun, embarking on an adventure that takes them higher and higher into the sky.

Overall, the lyrics celebrate the freedom and wonder of flying and the limitless possibilities for adventure that it represents. The message is both universal and timeless, appealing to dreamers of all ages and backgrounds.

I like Future Funk, but I hate how they never acknowledge the original artist, and most of the time, they add very little to the original music while still taking credit for everything.

I was just thinking that, they say it’s a “remix” and they’re just “sampling” but all they do is increase the volume and add a more synthy sounding drum and call it their own with no credits given. Seems very scummy to me

@kiwimotion

those tracks are mostly lazy garbage but djs like yung bae and most actually creative people chop up the sample. to the "taking credit for everything" part, if the future funk track gets listed on riaa they list the sample's composers as contributors; and thats practically the best an artist can do, like they cant just put the title of the original track in the title, not even big time grammy award winning artists do that.

@africanmusicfan

Yeah, I appreciate that Yung Bae introduced me to this music, but he's a parasite, never gives the original artist credit. Night Tempo, on the other hand, always gives the original credit, while calling it a "Night Tempo Remix." Which is the way it should be.

@youtubeisevil

Yeah! With vaporwave it feels fine because it's intentionally plunderphonical, lazily cut, and downbeat. However, because of how upbeat future funk is, it feels deceiveing for not giving credit to the sample.

@Sqwivig

@@youtubeisevilBut future funk IS vaporwave. Wtf are you talking about? Why is it ok for some vaporwave to get away with not crediting the original sample but not ok for future funk? It's fine to call out lazy or uninspired sampling, but it would be impossible for every musician to credit every song that inspired them. That kind of logic goes to some really uncharitable places. Like if a guitar riff sounds like another guitar riff in another song, people will say it's "stolen" even if the two songs are radically different. I've heard people say that Koji Kondo "ripped off" Piper's Summer Breaze to make the Starman theme in Mario games. It's just absurd. Inspiration and sampling is valid. I would argue that if a song is sampled but it sounds really close or identical to the original, then they should be called "original song title - remix." Night Tempo does this and it should be more common practice in the future funk community.
