Whatever 2.0
Miyagi Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Whoo!
We've had some tunes and quarrelled a lot. It's been for hours but then we struck - I walk, losing our tunes. Please lend me your straw. My content do not have a shell. You look like everybody else. We should retrieve ourselves. So try, I got some news for you.

Oh please wake up and let us dance. We share some faults and raise our hands. Please be the trial who will leave. It would be grateful. Receive me. Oh please wake up and let us dance. We share some faults and raise our hands. Please be the trial who will leave. It would be grateful. Receive me.

And then I went wrong in a maze. Wandered down deep in her gaze. I've been drowning in a selfish brawl. Now, fear is entering the hall again. We try to reach your hand, but I crashed down in front of the bend. Agree, my righteous enemy. So rough, good luck, I'm wrapped, whatever!

Oh please wake up and let us dance. We share some faults and raise our hands. Please be the trial who will leave. It would be grateful. Receive me. Oh please wake up and let us dance. We share some faults and raise our hands. Please be the trial who will leave. It would be grateful. Receive me.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics in Miyagi's song "Whatever 2.0" depict a relationship that has been tumultuous, with the singer and their partner having had arguments and disagreements, but eventually coming together to try and reconcile. The opening lines refer to their arguments and how they eventually agreed to part ways, with the singer feeling lost without their partner's support. They ask their partner to "lend [them] your straw", a metaphor for support, as they do not have a "shell", or protective outer layer, to shield themselves from the world. The singer acknowledges that their partner may not see them as different from others, but they suggest that they should try to find and retrieve their unique qualities and reconcile.

The chorus is a plea for their partner to wake up and join them in dancing, to celebrate their faults and mistakes rather than dwell on them. The singer wants their partner to take the lead in trying to fix their relationship, and they express gratitude and a willingness to receive their partner's efforts. However, the verse following the chorus reveals that the singer has made mistakes and been selfish in their relationship, and they feel as though they are drowning in guilt and fear. They ask their partner for forgiveness, but they also assert their independence, stating that they will continue on their own path regardless of whether their partner accepts them. The song ends with a call to move on from the past and carry on with life, wishing their partner luck in whatever they do.
