Bakgrunn
In English:
The Mods were a pop/rock band from Stavanger, Rogaland, Norway, which produced big hits in Norway in the dialect spoken in Stavanger.
The band lasted from 1980-1984 and had three albums recorded: Revansj! (1981), Amerika (1982) and Time Machine (1984). The first one is the most famous one and the one with the most hits.
Hits like: Tore Tang, Bare i nått, Revansj, Meg må du hilsa på (Du e mislykka) and Me to går alltid alleina are all on the 1981 album. Tore Tang is probably the best known song from Stavanger.
The band was known as Catrix before Morten Abel Knutsen joined in 1980.
They played some reunion concerts in 1990 in the Stavanger area. Morten Abel has on several occasions dismissed the band and their songs. Nevertheless, they are considered legends, especially in their home county Rogaland. Drummer Leif Nilsen later formed Leif & Kompisane, they sometimes play Mods songs live.
Abel, Hummervoll and Syvertsen later formed the band The September When in 1987, and Abel eventually went on to become a very successful solo artist in Norway.
In 1992, a CD re-issue set of two first Mods albums was released with the title Originaler. A "Best of" CD/DVD was released in 2006. These CDs are still selling well.
On the two first albums they only use the Stavanger dialect of Norwegian. On the third, least successful of their albums they also sing some in English.
Members in the band at some point:
Morten Abel Knutsen (Vocals, guitar, accordion - Norway's king of pop known from later also The September When and as a solo artist - then as Morten Abel)
Torkild Viig (Bass)
Geir Samsonsen
Craig Whitson
Kurt Ø. Olsen (guitar)
Helge Hummervoll (Keyboard - Also later a The September When member)
Runar Bjaalid (guitar)
Leif A.B. Nilsen (Drums - later formed the band: Leif & Kompisane)
Tor Øyvind Syvertsen (guitar - and also later a The September When member)
CORRECTION:
This particular band named The Mods (which is a Norwegian band) did not record "I Give You An Inch (And You Take A Mile)" that song was recorded in 1966 on the PECK Record label by The Mods (from Toledo, Ohio). Please correct your tags!

MODS - Taiwanese Boy Band
MODS here has nothing to do with the youth subculture from England, but everything to do with the latest boy band from Taiwan. Emerged from Chunghwa Telecom's MOD (Multimedia On-Demand) talent contest, MODS members Louis, Passion, and Wingle contribute different characteristics to the group. Changeability is the core concept of their debut album, as evident in the variety of musical styles.
How Can I

I can tell
I can tell
This barrel you've got me bent over
Was it pulled from your pork cellar?
In your lovely little house
I can tell
No point trying to use your colon
I see it coming out your mouth
Monday streets
The wet and bus stops get done over
By the youthless clubs on shut down streets
The one-percenters know, I do
It's just as well
I could be twenty-five years older
Shuffling into paper slippers, I catch the 42 to hell
Noddy's streets ain't the same when you get older
No nutrition and the bold are figments eaten by the cold
It's just as well
I could be 25 years older
Shuffling into paper slippers, I catch the 42 to hell
I just hope, I just hope everything gets pulled apart and pushed
Gets pulled apart and bust gets pulled apart
I just hope, I just hope gets pulled apart and pushed
Gets pulled apart and bust gets pulled apart
I can tell
I can tell
You believe you be thinking that you got it
But you're para like the rest of us who squirm in bank transfers
Leytonstone or a village out near Stoke-on-Trent
We move in ways in we don't invent
I mean it's bitter all the time
Monday streets
The wet and bus stops get done over
By the youthless clubs on shut down streets
The one-percenters know, I do
It's just as well
I could be twenty-five years older
Shuffling into paper slippers, I catch the 42 to hell
I just hope, I just hope everything gets pulled apart and pushed
Gets pulled apart and bust gets pulled apart
I just hope, I just hope everything gets pulled apart and pushed
Gets pulled apart and bust gets pulled apart
I just hope, I just hope everything gets pulled apart and pushed
Gets pulled apart and bust gets pulled apart
I just hope, I just hope everything gets pulled apart and pushed
Gets pulled apart and bust gets pulled apart
I can tell
I can tell
I can tell
I can tell
Pulled apart and bust pulled apart and pushed
Pulled apart and bust pulled apart and pushed
Pulled apart and bust pulled apart
Got para then pissed bouncing off taxis trying to get sniff
I didn't get but I did
Complementary white wine slid down my lid
I got munched up hardcore
The train roared so did I
I was pie eyed
The lyrics of Mods's song "How Can I" depict a sense of disillusionment and frustration with the current state of society and the singer's personal circumstances. The opening lines, "I can tell
I can tell
I can tell," suggest that the singer is keenly observant of the world around them and can discern the truth beneath the surface.
The imagery in the lyrics is vivid and evocative. The line, "This barrel you've got me bent over, was it pulled from your pork cellar?" portrays a feeling of being trapped or controlled by someone or something. The mention of taverns and raising glasses for no one indicates a lack of authenticity or genuine connection. The reference to "youthless clubs on shut down streets" highlights the decay and deterioration of urban areas, echoing a sense of hopelessness and a lack of opportunity.
The repetition of the phrase "It's just as well, I could be twenty-five years older" reflects a resignation to the singer's current circumstances and a sense of acceptance towards a potentially bleak future. The mention of Leytonstone and Stoke-on-Trent represents the mundane and unremarkable nature of the singer's surroundings. The lyrics also express a desire for change and for things to be pulled apart and pushed, suggesting a need for transformation and renewal.
Overall, "How Can I" conveys a sense of disillusionment, frustration, and a longing for something more meaningful and fulfilling in life.

Hey I know you may not see this but how do you get the mods tab. I can't get it and I followed all the steps. I want to get a morph mod but it's 1.16.5 and I downloaded forge in 1.19.2 but I changed it to 1.16.5 in the MC launcher, yet it doesn't prompt me about playing with mods or have the mod tab in the actual game. Please help
