After completing his education in Himachal Pradesh, Chauhan came to Delhi where he formed the band Silk Route in 1996.The band released two albums, Boondein and Pehchan before getting dissolved and in 2008 Chauhan released the solo album Kalam, for which he composed and sung. Boondein was their first album and included the song "Dooba Dooba". In Bollywood, his career started when he sang the A. R. Rahman song "Khoon Chala" in Rang De Basanti.
In 2009 he released his second solo album Fitoor.

This, is the most patriotic movie I watched. Not the ones which sing praises of our country. Patriotism means loving our country, but not blindly. This movie showed us reality. It showed our country through the eyes of innocence. A true patriot would constantly want to improve their country, by understanding it's shortcomings. This movie was far ahead of its times.

Exactly. This movie shows a clear difference between Patriotism and Nationalism.
The former is what we need, respecting and admiring our culture, and make sure it stays respected, even if it meant questioning the authorities so that your people can live with peace. Nationalism is simply blind devotion to the country. A nationalist believes every decision made is good, and no one should be allowed to question it. A patriot is never narrow minded.
