Blues
Mojo Lyrics

Will you show me your CD collection?
It's full of old school
Rock and roll
You fill your life
With decoration
Cause all these things
Makes you feel whole
There's something inside
I can see it in your eyes
It sparks with golden light
But you cant see it
Cause you're colourblind
So if you don't mind
Let me teach you
Those twelve bar blues
Or we can dance
While were young
And we can still
Feel the beat
And hear the music too
Can you hear me
Ms. Always Blue?
They all tell me
There's no getting to you
Their words don't stop me
That easily
Don't you get tired of
The colour blue
What about purple or pink
Yellow or green
Promise you the world
Isn't as cruel as it seems
So tell me
Did you ever learn those twelve bar blues
Did you ever put on
Your dancing shoes
Did you feel the beat
Or hear the music too
Are you with me
Ms. Always Blue?
You remind me of the seventh wave
You can't see your strength and you hate the way
You come crashing down
Crashing down
But you're the reason why the surfers wait
So get up off the ground
You're gonna turn it all around
Cause it's what you do
And I'd love to see you
Playing those twelve bar blues
Your spark is found
And you're dancing now
You've got the beat
And you love the music too

You're no longer
Ms. Always Blue

Overall Meaning

Mojo's song "Blues" revolves around the concept of using marijuana to cope with difficult emotions, namely sadness and depression. It begins with the singer feeling "so blue" on a Monday morning, but instead of dwelling in his negative feelings, he decides to turn to marijuana to "ease [his] mind." He sings about wanting to get so high that he feels no pain and forgets his own name. He goes on to defend marijuana by calling it the "mellow leaf," and says that there's "a lot to be said for" it.

At its core, "Blues" is a song about escapism, using marijuana as a way to avoid facing difficult emotions. While the song doesn't necessarily condone drug use, it certainly paints marijuana in a positive light and encourages the listener to turn to it when they're feeling low. The lyrics also suggest that marijuana can be a way to connect with others; when the singer smokes with someone else, it brings them both together and creates a sense of community.

Blues by Mojo is now 10 years old! One of the greatest Dubstep tracks from 2013! The drop is so simple but it sure is addicting! The second drop at 2:19 is still fucking phenomenal! This was way ahead of its time for 2013! Sad this was the Mojo’s last appearance on UKF Dubstep. I wonder were this artist is now!
