1) Mom is the midi-rock diary project of Devi McCallion. Equally influenced by lo-fi emo, obnoxious queer electropunk, and laid-back girl rap, Mom has been sporadically updating a personal blog with writing, drawings, photographs and hastily assembled song since early 2013 but didn't release her first album, "Self-Titled" under this moniker until 2014. She has since released three more numbered albums and an EP under the alias.
2) Mom: Much like a handmade quilt, Sleep Whale’s (Mom's) music is filled with collected scraps of material, beautiful patterns and meticulous crafting. Though the possibilities for both quilts and music are many, the ultimate purpose is to keep one warm.
For guitarist/cellist Joel North and violinist/sequence programmer Bruce Blay, the melding of traditional live acoustic sounds of violin, cello, and guitar with vanguard electronic processing is the most natural thing in the world. Woven throughout the infectious melodies of violin, cello, and guitar you’ll find music boxes, shortwave radios, tape machines, water and much more.
Their album "Little Brite" is being released in Japan with two videos and possibly slightly altered tracks. They are currently on the Austin Based label Western Vinyl, and have since changed their name to "Sleep Whale."
3) The European MOM is a band who connects comedy with alternative music (sometimes with techno as well!). MOM stands for Michael, Oliver and Matze, 3 young guys who use many different instruments and make (sometimes not so) serious music. The band lives in Stuttgart, Germany.
4) The original MOM was a San Francisco CA based band in the late 1980's and early 1990's comprised of members of the band's Bomb and Bedlam Rovers. They were a rock band augmented with violin, and were affiliated with the Komotion International music collective.
5) Japanese singer/songwriter/track maker, Mom, is a 22-year-old student creating music he describes as "Craft Hip-Hop". In November of 2018, he released his debut album "Playground" and was selected to be one of Apple Music's best new artists. In the month of May 2019, he released "Detox", his new album. Produced and recorded all by himself, and is seeing industry success already.
5) MOM is a punk band from St. Louis, Missouri. https://momstl.bandcamp.com
Puzzle
Mom Lyrics

My body crumbles inwards as water pressure pushes down on me
Sea slugs surround me
Just being so close uncoils my spine
I feel so fine
If you touch my hand I'll lose my mind
I′m hypnotized
The song "Puzzle" by the artist Mom is a mysterious and dreamlike composition that explores themes of longing, transformation, and surrender. At its core, the song is a reflection on the singer's desire to escape the limitations and confinements of the human body and merge with something larger and more elemental, like the sea. The opening lyrics suggest a fantastical scenario in which the singer imagines herself as a bride riding an eel into the depths of the ocean. This image is both seductive and surreal, evoking a sense of adventure and danger as well as a yearning to transcend the boundaries of the physical world.
As the song unfolds, the singer's body begins to dissolve and disintegrate under the weight of the water pressure, and she is surrounded by sea slugs, creatures that are at once repulsive and fascinating. Yet despite the strangeness and discomfort of this experience, the singer feels an overwhelming sense of euphoria and release. The sensation of being submerged in the sea is so powerful that it seems to transform her on a fundamental level, uncoiling her spine and freeing her from the constraints of her earthly form. The final lines of the song suggest a deep sense of surrender as the singer loses herself in the hypnotic rhythm of the music and allows herself to be carried away by its spell.
Overall, "Puzzle" is a haunting and enigmatic song that invites the listener to explore the boundaries between fantasy and reality, self and other, and the limitations of the human form. Its dreamlike quality and evocative imagery make it a powerful piece of music that lingers in the mind long after it has ended.
