Wash me down
Let me go to shiver
Spread it all around
Push up close
To fill the queues but
Love get out of my way
Love what ya doin' to me
Love get out of my way
Get out of my way
Love what ya doin' to me
Oooh
Pick me up I'm breakin'
Cool my mind
Still cold I'm aching
You know the kind
Right on course or we could crash
Love get out of my way
Get out of my way
Love what ya doin to me
Love get out of my way
Get out of my way
Love what ya doin' to me
Oooh
Your in my bones in my ears
In my strokes
I have been saved from the moon
By your touch but it's too much
Too much too soon
It's too much
Too much too soon
So love get out of my way
Get out of my way
Love what ya doin to me
Love get out of my way
Get out of my way
Love what ya doin' to me
Love get out of my way
Get out of my way
Love what ya doin' to me
Love get out of my way
Get out of my way
The lyrics of Monarchy's song "Love Get Out Of My Way" describe a relationship that is intoxicating and all-consuming, but ultimately suffocating. The singer seems to be struggling with a love that is overwhelming and potentially dangerous. The opening line "Clinging to your fever/Wash me down" suggests that the singer is trying to cleanse themselves of the intensity of their feelings. They want to "go to shiver/Spread it all around," which could either mean that they want to share their feelings with the world or that they want to shake off this overwhelming love.
The chorus of the song, "Love get out of my way/Get out of my way/Love what ya doin' to me" emphasizes the paradoxical nature of the singer's emotions. They can't seem to resist this love, but they also want it to leave them alone. The line "Pick me up I'm breakin'/Cool my mind/Still cold I'm aching/You know the kind" demonstrates how this love is simultaneously comforting and painful. The singer recognizes that they might be on the verge of a disaster, warning "Right on course or we could crash."
The bridge of the song is particularly striking. The singer states that "You're in my bones in my ears/In my strokes/I have been saved from the moon/By your touch but it's too much/Too much too soon." This lyric envisions love as a physical force that is present within the singer's very being. The moon is a classic symbol of romantic love, and the singer seems to be implying that this love has restored them in some way. However, it's all happening too quickly, and the singer needs to slow down.
Overall, "Love Get Out Of My Way" is a powerful depiction of the complexities of love. It captures the way that love can be both alluring and overwhelming, and the way that it can both heal and harm. The singer recognizes that they need to take a step back from this relationship, but they can't help being drawn in.

This video has 373,085 views on it as of 5/26/11. And I'm pretty sure that 300,000 of those views are from me. I can't stop watching this video. It's so current, yet so 80s retro. Whoever did this is BRILLIANT! I know it's Monarchy, but whoever directed the video I mean. I love how the 80s are coming back while still using current technology and themes. Be cool if they could do the same thing with the 70s, 60s, and 50s decade sounds.
