No Show
Moneybagg Yo Lyrics

I'm good now

Sippin' Wock' got me movin' slow-mo, took a bad bitch to Ekomodo
Ain't nothin' personal, just need my backend or I'm a no show
Gettin' high, pray I don't overdose
Gettin' fly, just bought some more clothes (drip)
Soon as I said I need her love, that's when she went ghost on me
Why-y-y-y-y, oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
I can't trust nobody, I don't trust a soul
As long as I got my chopper, I don't care where I go
You ain't never killed nobody
You ain't gotta tell me, I know (speak)

I know you niggas ain't even built how you pretend to be (at all)
I fill my body up with drugs 'fore I even eat (go)
Percocets, Xans, codeine, you don't wanna see what I see (nah)
Ever seen a nigga OD? He ain't wake up out of his sleep (damn)
Can you imagine how that made me feel? (You can't)
Tryna kick the cup for real, link back up on these pills (shake it)
Tryna fight it, fight it, but I'm deep in that field (gone)
Lost so many niggas this year that I known for years (that's gone)
I get high, then I relapse, can't nothin' but time heal me
Told Allah I can't go for nothin', they gon' have to kill me
I post the lo' to all my shows, so tell me how we really beefin'?
It must not be no real smoke, nigga, if I'm out here still eatin' (really)
Oh, oh-oh, oh, oh-oh
I got a bad bitch with me in Coco (Chanel)
She asked me, "Bae, why you always got that coat for?" (So extra)
'Cause I be

Sippin' Wock' got me movin' slow-mo, took a bad bitch to Ekomodo
Ain't nothin' personal, just need my backend or I'm a no show
Gettin' high, pray I don't overdose
Gettin' fly, just bought some more clothes (drip)
Soon as I said I need her love, that's when she went ghost on me
Why-y-y-y-y, oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
I can't trust nobody, I don't trust a soul
As long as I got my chopper, I don't care where I go

You ain't never killed nobody
You ain't gotta tell me, I know

Overall Meaning

In MoneyBagg Yo's song "No Show," the lyrics touch on themes of drug use, mistrust, and the challenges of fame and relationships. The opening lines describe the artist's state of mind while sipping on a cough syrup drink known as Wock' (codeine), which slows down his movements and makes him feel lethargic ("movin' slow-mo"). He mentions being in the company of an attractive woman ("bad bitch") and implies that their interaction is purely transactional, as he only needs her to secure his payment ("backend") or else he will refuse to perform ("no show").

The lyrics also touch on the consequences of drug abuse, as MoneyBagg Yo admits to getting high and praying he won't overdose. He acknowledges buying more clothes, showcasing his extravagant lifestyle and addiction to material possessions ("drip"). The mention of a ghosted love interest suggests that once he expressed a need for emotional connection, the person disappeared from his life. This abandonment may have contributed to his difficulty in trusting others ("I can't trust nobody") and cultivating genuine relationships.

The second verse delves further into the rapper's struggles with addiction. MoneyBagg Yo admits to filling his body with drugs even before eating and lists various substances like Percocets, Xans (Xanax), and codeine. He mentions witnessing someone overdose and highlights the emotional impact it had on him. Despite his attempts to fight against addiction, he feels deeply entrenched in the lifestyle and is surrounded by loss and tragedy ("Lost so many niggas this year that I known for years"). The mention of Allah suggests that he may be seeking salvation or guidance, emphasizing his determination not to settle for anything less than survival ("Told Allah I can't go for nothin', they gon' have to kill me").

Overall, "No Show" reflects MoneyBagg Yo's struggles with substance abuse, the emotional toll of fame, and the difficulties of forming genuine connections in his life.

Tha Greatest1

I love the melodies on this one. If some of these rappers were born way back in the day they’d be on Motown. The way they grew up was way different from the Motown legends though. A lot of those singers grew up singing in choirs but the rappers today didn’t. You can tell they understand melodies and how to write songs but as far as singing goes, they don’t know how to use their voice which is why they got auto tune.
