She appeared in more than 20 films and television series, including The Emigrants (1971) with Liv Ullman and Max von Sydow.
She was above all an outstanding singer, particularly noted for her jazz songs. In 1964 she recorded the jazz album Waltz for Debby with Bill Evans. She was regarded as a role model by many younger Swedish singers. Her long career also included En gång i Stockholm (Once Upon a Time in Stockholm) with which she represented Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1963. She finished last and scored the infamous null points, but still managed to remain successful in Sweden.
She was known to suffer from scoliosis, and as a result was forced to retire from performing in 1999.
On May 12, 2005, she died in an accidental fire in her apartment in Stockholm.

You will say, oh yes you will now
I wanna tell you, it's gonna get you
Yes indeed, oh yes
You get a feeling, down in your soul
Everytime you hear that old rock and roll
I know you'll say oh, oh, oh
Just wanna tell you, if it's in you
You will say, oh yes you will now
I wanna tell you, if it's gonna send you
Yes indeed, oh yes
Everytime you hear that rock and roll beat
You get a feeling from your head down to your feet
I know you'll say oh, oh, oh
Yes indeed, yes indeed
I know you'll dance all over the floor
Yes indeed, oh yes you will now
You will be jumping, till they close the door
Yes indeed, oh yes
Everytime you hear, a swinging band
You'll jump up and down and clap your hands
I know you'll say oh, oh, oh
Yes indeed, yes indeed
The lyrics of Monica Zetterlund's song "Yes Indeed" express the powerful impact and infectious nature of rock and roll music. The first stanza states that the listener, when exposed to the music, will acknowledge its irresistible appeal with a resounding "yes." This sets the tone for the rest of the song, emphasizing the certainty of the music's influence on the individual.
The second paragraph describes the emotional connection and resonance that rock and roll has on the listener's soul. Every time they hear the music, they feel it deep within, indicating a profound and visceral response. The repetition of "oh, oh, oh" further emphasizes this intense reaction. The repetition of the phrase "yes indeed" serves as both a confirmation of the listener's appreciation and as a reinforcement of the song's title.
In the third paragraph, the lyrics continue with a similar message, highlighting that if rock and roll is inherently a part of the listener, they will unquestionably surrender to its allure. The lyrics suggest that the music has the power to consume and transport the listener. The repetition of "yes indeed" once again reinforces the certainty and conviction expressed throughout the song.
The final paragraph describes the physical and energetic response the listener will have to rock and roll. They are compelled to dance, jump, and celebrate the music. The lyrics imply that the listener will be so captivated by the music that they will continue to dance even after the venue closes its doors. The repetition of "oh, oh, oh" and "yes indeed" concludes the song with a strong reaffirmation of the listener's enthusiasm and the transformative power of rock and roll music.
