Her professional career began in the early 80's when she joined "The Soul Stirrers Crusade choir." While singing with this choir she met fellow choir member, Hezekiah Walker, whom she later married in 1992. They were blessed with a beautiful daughter Kyasia Monet. Monique demonstrated her multitalented abilities when she co-starred with world-renowned actor Morgan Freeman, Carl Lumby and "The Five Blind Boys" in the stage play "Coriolanus". She also toured numerous countries with the play, "Don't Get God Started", along with BeBe Winans, Kim Fields and John S. Devito.
Monique returned from touring to join Hezekiah Walker and his "Love Fellowship Crusade Choir". Monique quickly became the choirs' well-recognized and often requested lead vocalist. Her commanding stage presence and powerful anointed voice captivated a worldwide gospel audience. Monique's vocals catapulted LFCC to the top of the Billboard Charts and helped them to win numerous Grammy & Stellar Awards.
