Precision Queen
Monty Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

When you cooked me dinner Tuesday
Did you know it was my birthday?
I was over you by Thursday
I’ll cut my hair again
Change where I’m from
Paint a new face, for them I’ll become
Somebody new that’s perfect for you
Why are you smiling? I’m shining this bullet for you

Shooting the shooter, that’s fun
Come look at me, precision queen
Watchin’ them slip as they run
When will they learn that this is too easy?

Today is good; it’s a good day
I’ve found myself a new playmate
I hope that this one is OK
I’ll cut my hair
Change where I’m from
Paint a new face, for them I’ll become
Somebody new that’s perfect for you
Why are you smiling? I’m shining this bullet for you

Shooting the shooter, that’s fun
Come look at me, precision queen
Watchin’ them slip as they run
When will they learn that this is too easy?
Shooting the shooter, that’s fun
Come look at me, precision queen

Watchin’ them slip as they run
When will they learn that this is too easy?

Overall Meaning

In Monty's song "Precision Queen," the lyrics tell the story of a woman who is taking control of her life after a breakup. She is trying to move on and be someone new for her ex-partner, but ultimately decides to take revenge. The first few lines describe her ex-partner not remembering her birthday and how she moved on quickly from the relationship. She then begins to talk about how she will change herself for her ex-partner, but then abruptly shifts to taking revenge. "Shining this bullet for you" is a clear indication of what she's planning to do.

The chorus of the song is where she reveals her plan of taking revenge by shooting her ex-partner. She calls herself the "precision queen" and takes pleasure in shooting the shooter. She enjoys the way they slip as they run because they haven't learned that it's too easy for her. The last few lines of the song talk about her finding a new playmate and hoping that they will be okay with her past, indicating that she may continue to take revenge on her past partners.
