Chin Up
Moose Blood Lyrics

I should have been around
And all those conversations we had before I found out
I remember missing all your calls
And how they went round and around
And that time you told me you loved me
And couldn't feel more proud
That tattoo of your name
The number of your age
I don't know what to say, I still think about you
And those pictures in mum's house
That I touch when I'm around
And that ring you wore
I kept it by my side
I promise that I'll keep it forever and I'll treasure it
Because it's all I have
I remember missing all your calls
And how they went round and around
And that time you told me you loved me
And couldn't feel more proud
That tattoo of your name
The number of your age
I don't know what to say, I still think about you
And those pictures in mum's house
That I touch when I'm around
Moose Blood's song "Chin Up" is a heartfelt tribute to a loved one who has passed away. The lyrics talk about regrets of not spending enough time with the person when they were alive and being haunted by memories of them after they're gone. The singer wishes they had seen their dad more often and had more conversations with him before finding out about his death. The lyrics also speak about missing phone calls and feeling proud when told they're loved.
The singer mentions tangible items that remind them of the person they lost, such as a tattoo of their name and age, pictures in their mum's house, and a ring they kept by their side. The ring is particularly precious to them as it's all they have left. The lyrics seem to express a sense of guilt and sadness for not being able to be there for the person they lost and a longing for their presence.
Overall, the song is a bittersweet reflection on the memories left behind by someone who is no longer with us. It's a reminder to cherish the time we have with the people we love and to not take their presence for granted.

I usually don't leave comments, but this song hurts me. I listened to this song before my dad died and it hurt me because I realized how much he meant to me. He passed a couple months back, and now this entire album makes me cry. Especially, "that time that you told me you loved me and you couldn't feel more proud."
