Brazilian singer Gal Costa, another pillar of Brazilian popular music, is Moreno Veloso's godmother. Additionally, many of the greats of the Brazilian music scene visited the Veloso household frequently and, therefore, Moreno Veloso grew up surrounded by musicians and much music. This rich environment had a great impact in Moreno Veloso's musical development.
Veloso studied physics at a university but turned instead to musici and singing. In 2000 Moreno Veloso recorded his first album, Máquina de Escrever Música (English: Music Typewriter) but his songwriting debut was much earlier in 1982 with Um Canto de Afoxé para o Bloco Do Ile, a clear reference to African mythology. The Afro-Brazilian religion of Candomblé, full of rithms and colors, predominant in his native city of São Salvador da Bahia must have had a remarcable impact on his natural talent while he was growing up.
Moreno Veloso's work has been well received far and wide. For example, American singer and band leader Chrissie Hynde, a longtime resident of the city of London, England, has expressed great admiration for his work and even has traveled and performed with him throughout Brazil right after the turn of the millennium. One of Moreno Veloso's music groups was called Moreno Veloso + 2 (composed of Moreno Veloso, Alexandre Kassin and Domênico Lancelotti).

ela ainda tem o seu valor.
Dentro deste sem saber
pode ser, por que não, pode crer, talvez.
Por ter a saída escondida
a aventura ganha sabor
desista que alguém de fora
possa ouvir, venha ver, pode crer, não vem.
o que vira amor sempre é bom.
Deixe de saudade reprimida
quem acena para sempre tem.
Tem muito amor pra te contar
e muito mais pra te dar.
Passa beco, esquina, armadilha
denso medo no redemoinho.
Mande o sério ir embora
chuva ou sol, mal e bem, ser ou não, tem vez.
Seja fato, acaso ou pura cisma
o que vira amor sempre é bom.
Não vá descuidar da sua vida
ela ainda tem meu valor.
Veja o luar no mar que a brisa
não se esquece nunca de esperar chegar.
Tem muito amor pra te contar
e muito mais pra te dar.
The lyrics to Moreno Veloso's song "Enquanto Isso" convey a message about embracing love and living life to the fullest. The opening line suggests that one should not neglect their own life, as it still holds value. The song encourages listeners to embrace uncertainty and take risks in the search for love, as the adventure of it adds flavor to life. The lyricist emphasizes that one should not expect validation or understanding from the outside world, but instead trust in their own instincts and judgment. The chorus repeats the message that love is always worthwhile, no matter what form it takes.
The song also touches on the concept of fear and the idea that one should not be held back by it. The lyricist encourages listeners to let go of their inhibitions and embrace both the good and the bad in life, as they both have a place. The final verse reinforces the message that life is worth living, and that love is always present and waiting.
Overall, "Enquanto Isso" is a song that encourages listeners to embrace the unpredictability of life and celebrate the highs and lows that come with it. It urges them to take risks and trust in themselves, ultimately recognizing that love is always worth pursuing.
