1. Moria (Salinas, CA) was originally named Breakneck and started out as a joke hardcore band in the spring of 2003. After a few shows we decided to rename the band Moria and started writting more metal songs. Moria focused on combining the heavy and brutal elements of metal with the ideals and integrity of hardcore. We recorded 3 demos (2004, 2005, 2007) and 1 full length album called "No Light Ahead". We also completed 2 full U.S. tours and 4 west coast tours. We accomplished so much more then we ever intended and we thank everyone's support through the years. Thank you again. We are playing a special reunion show on JANUARY 16TH, 2010 in Santa Cruz.
They regrouped as a new band called Helm's Deep

2.
Moria (Bulgaria) - In the end of 2002, Werwolf meets Khan Kubrat - a man with the same ideas and music orientation as him, and after discussing the real results from such an initiative like founding a black metal band and recording an album, they decide to try. They record the demo “Turning Of The Sorrow” in the winter of 2002/2003, which surprisingly brings them a contract with Counter Attack Productions for releasing two albums - several months later the first full-length album of Moria comes out - “Mountains In Sorrow”. After less than a month Werwolf leaves. Several months the line-up is suffering new changes, and finally Werwolf returns as the new drummer is the talented Julian Borisov and Gormoth Iscariot comes as second guitarist.

The Horror
Moria Lyrics

Face down in their misery
They told him to kill
The ghost along his side
Full of rage and
Possessed to kill
Kill them all
Moving here in the promise
This quickly swept away
By the horrors of the past
Catch them
Kill them
These murders would haunt him
Driven to insanity
The growing hate
Eyes blood shot red
This eerie coldness
And voices in his head
This is truly hell
Horror!
You must escape this
Residing in his basement
The voices still in his head
Driving him to insanity
This is his breaking point
Chasing his family with an axe
They must escape the horror
Of this house
28 days of hell
The lyrics to Moria's song, The Horror, paints a haunting picture of a man who has been driven to insanity by the ghosts of his past. He has been commanded to kill, and the six people whom he shot are now lying face down in their misery. With a ghost by his side, and blinded by rage and possession, he is determined to take down everybody in his path until he eradicates all the horrors of his past. The singer then moves to a new place, seeking a fresh start, but unfortunately, the atrocities he had committed continue to haunt him. He continues to hear voices in his head, and as the hatred grows, he becomes a victim of his own mind.
The man is now residing in his basement, which seems like his only escape, yet the sound of the voices still echoes in his head, driving him towards the limits of his sanity. In his breaking point, he grabs an axe, chasing his family around the house, who must all escape the agony and horror of the man's tortured soul. The last line "28 days of hell" could suggest that this is only the beginning of a long nightmare for both the singer and his family.
