Shortly after Claret's video for "Snobby Little Elf" premiered on YouTube, the band split for an indefinite hiatus. They regrouped in March 2012 to join Mindless Self Indulgence on a final tour. The band's final show was on March 11 at Irving Plaza in New York City. Since the disbanding, Claret has started a solo career while Yanowitz has started work on a Broadway musical.

That I got 'cause if I do
I will surely,
Surely lose a lot.
'Cause your love is better
Than any love I know.
It's like thunder, lightning,
The way you love me is frightening.
Well I'm not superstitious about you
But I can't take no chance.
You got me spinnin', baby,
Baby I'm in a trance.
'Cause your love is better
Than any love I know.
It's like thunder, lightning,
The way you love me is frightening.
I'd better knock, on wood, baby.
Ain't no secret, that young men
He fills my lovin' cup
He see's to it, that I get enough
Just one touch from him
You know it means so much
It's like thunder, lightning,
The way you love me is frightening.
I'd better knock (knock knock) on wood baby.
(knock knock)
Oh Yeah!
I think I'd better knock (knock knock) on wood
I think I'd better knock (knock knock) on wood
I think I'd better knock (knock knock) on wood
The lyrics to Morningwood's "Knock On Wood" express the fear of losing a good thing. The singer is in a state of disbelief that they have found such an amazing love and is determined not to lose it. Hence, the singer is taking precautions against any possibility of losing this newfound love. The lyrics use the metaphor of thunder and lightning to describe the intensity of the love that the singer has found. In addition, the lyrics also suggest that the singer is not superstitious, yet they cannot take any chances with the love they have found.
The chorus of "Knock On Wood" simply repeats the phrase "knock on wood," which is a well-known superstition to keep bad luck at bay. However, in this case, the phrase is a metaphorical one as the singer uses it to express their deepest wish to hold onto their love. The singer realizes how valuable and rare it is to find someone who loves them the way they deserve and, therefore, wants to knock on wood to make sure that nothing goes wrong. The song's lyrics suggest an underlying theme of gratitude, hope, and determination.
