Motörhead released 23 studio albums, 10 live recordings, 12 compilation albums and five EPs over a career spanning 40 years. Usually a power trio, they had particular success in the early 1980s with several successful singles in the UK Top 40 chart. The albums Overkill, Bomber, Ace of Spades and, particularly, the live album No Sleep 'til Hammersmith cemented Motörhead's reputation as a top-tier rock band. The band are ranked number 26 on VH1's 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock. As of 2016, they have sold more than 15 million albums worldwide.
Most often classified as heavy metal, Motörhead has been credited with being part of and influencing numerous musical scenes, thrash metal and speed metal especially. Lemmy, however, always insisted that they were a rock and roll band. He said that they had more in common with punk bands, but with their own unique sound, Motörhead is embraced in both punk and metal scenes. Their lyrics typically covered such topics as war, good versus evil, abuse of power, promiscuous sex, substance abuse and, most famously, gambling, the latter theme being the focus of their hit song "Ace of Spades".
Lemmy died on 28 December 2015 from cardiac arrhythmia and congestive heart failure, after being diagnosed with prostate cancer. The day after his death, drummer Mikkey Dee and guitarist Phil Campbell both confirmed that Motörhead had disbanded. By 2018, all three members of Motörhead's best-known line-up (Lemmy, Taylor and Clarke) had died.

Don't led daddy kiss me
Motörhead Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Mommy's been gone a long time
Daddy comes home and she still sleeps
Waiting for the world's worst crime
And he comes up the stairs like he always does
And he never turns on the light
And she's wide awake, scared to death
Curled in a ball, she holds her breath
Praying to a God that she's never met
Don't let Daddy kiss me, don't let Daddy kiss me
Goodnight
Little girl lies by her Daddy's side
And she listens to him breathe
She knows there's something awful wrong
That she's far too young to see
And she knows she can't tell anyone
She's so full of guilt and shame
And if she tells she'll be all alone
They'd steal her Daddy and they'd steal her home
And it's not so bad when Daddy leaves her alone
Praying to her God with his heart of stone
Don't let Daddy kiss me, don't let Daddy kiss me
Goodnight
Why
Tell me why
The worst crime
In the world
And Daddy lies by his daughter's side
And he sleeps both deep and well
No nightmares come to him tonight
Though his daughter lives in hell
For his seed is sown where it should not be
And the beast in his mind don't care
And the only sounds are tears that fall
Little girl turns her face to the wall
She knows that no-one hears her call
But it seems that God hears nothing at all
Don't let Daddy kiss me, don't let Daddy kiss me
Don't let Daddy kiss me
Goodnight
" Don't Let Daddy Kiss Me" is a song by British hard rock band Motörhead, included in their 1991 album, "1916." The song tackles the uncomfortable and taboo topic of child sexual abuse, particularly from a father figure. The little girl in the song has been deserted by her mother, and when her father returns home, she is terrified he might sexually assault her. The first verse portrays her fear and anticipation, knowing what might happen and the dreadful wait until it does. She is unable to escape from her predator father, and while she prays to a God she has never met, her father carries out the despicable crime.
In the second verse, the child is filled with guilt and shame, not wanting to tell anyone what has happened. She knows her father's actions are wrong, but she would be all alone if she tells anyone. The repeated phrase, "don't let Daddy kiss me," is a plea to any force that can protect her from the harm done by her own father. The chorus ends with the little girl asking for protection and hiding behind the veil of the night.
The final verse highlights the aftermath of what has happened with the father sleeping the deep sleep of the guilty with no sign of remorse. While his daughter is left to deal with the trauma he has caused. She silently weeps, pleading for help that seems to be unheard, and it is left to the imagination how it ends. The song is a cry to those who can't speak up, a reminder that child abuse is a horrendous act that destroys lives.

Mała dziewczynka śpi spokojnym snem,
Mama odeszła dawno temu,
Tata przychodzi do domu, a ona wciąż śpi,
Oni zabiorą jej tatę i zabiorą jej dom
I śpi głęboko i smacznie
Mała dziewczynka odwraca twarz do ściany
Wie, że nikt nie usłyszy jej wołania
Ale wydaje się, że Bóg w ogóle nic nie słyszy
Nie pozwól tacie mnie pocałować
Nie pozwól tacie mnie pocałować
Dobranoc

Probably the most underrated motörhead song fuckin ever !!
they played it once on a concert and everywhere were lighters and dead silence, just the band. it was a very serious moment, i even saw a few people, men and women crying...its a very strong and serious song !
@christianmunso7482
could you also say it is one of Motörhead's most respected songs? I mean I'm not discrediting 1916 but this literally makes tears fall
@dented_riddles9967
Yeah, like dang, who's gonna sing along to this?
@antonsis
I thought it's the best one
@bansheekiller
Lemmy originally offered for Lita Ford to sing this with him. She turned it down so he did it himself. He says this is one of his favorite songs he's ever written.
@jaysoncornish4779
She didn't turn him down. Her management did.
@Crowdog199681
This is a very deep song. the lyrics man.. nobody has ever written something so emotional. this is why Motorhead is on the top list for me.
@radec918
A very dark song, but very beautiful. Amazing how an in-your-face band like Motorhead can slow down for a moment with a ballad like this. Well done.
@TheTamtam76
I SWEAR LEMMY IS CRYING..WHILE HE'S SINGING THIS...I HEAR A NOTE IN HIS VOICE.. IVE NEVER HEARD...NEVER
@martyschriver
Especially that "good night" at the end of the second chorus
