Reunion
Mother And Child Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
When she don't forget
When she don't forget at all
She forgets my name
When she don't forget
When she don't forget at all
Why she forget me when
When I remember it all
Why she forget me when
I remember
When I remember it all
She forgets my name
When she knows I know
She remembers all
She forgets my name
When she knows I know
She remembers all
Why she forget me when
I remember
When I remember it all
Why she forget me when
I remember
When I remember it all
She forgets my name
When she don't forget
When she don't forget at all
She forgets my name
When she don't forget
When she don't forget at all
The lyrics of "Reunion" by Mother And Child convey a sense of confusion and frustration in a relationship where one person's name is constantly forgotten by the other. The repetition of the lines "She forgets my name when she don't forget, when she don't forget at all" highlights the contradictory nature of the situation. It seems that the singer's name is sometimes remembered by the other person, but at other times it is completely forgotten. This inconsistency deepens their confusion and intensifies their desire for understanding.
The repetition of the question "Why she forget me when I remember it all" expresses the singer's frustration and longing for reciprocity in their relationship. They are puzzled as to why they are constantly forgotten, despite their ability to remember everything about the other person. The lack of acknowledgement and recognition leaves the singer feeling overlooked and potentially undervalued.
Overall, "Reunion" explores the imbalance and emotional toll of a relationship where one person's name is frequently forgotten. It delves into the frustration and longing for validation that can arise when one's presence and significance are seemingly disregarded.
